How many cocktail tables would we need?

FutureMrs.V, on January 31, 2018 at 8:38 AM Posted in Planning 0 4
We are inviting 180 guests, but because of distance we expect about 150 to come. Our cocktail hour is outside next to our bonfire area which has picnic tables. This is all weather permitting. If it rains, everything is moved to the reception hall. I have ten cocktail tables rented already, but ten more just freed up. The picnic tables are very close to the cocktail hour and could be used as seating as well. How many cocktail tables should we plan on having? It's a short cocktail hour- only about 45 min.

Assuming these are standing tables, I would think 5 more is sufficient. Not all guests will stand at a table. A number will mingle and if they do hang be a table, 5+ people could easily be accommodated. Try looking for a Pinterest board that breaks down guest count.

I would add a few more! I’ve been to some cocktail hours that don’t have enough tables and it’s so difficult trying to balance a plate and drink and eat at the same time.

I'll add on the 10! We can always use them elsewhere I'm sure. Thank you all!
