How long does a wedding ceremony list?

Maren, on August 15, 2018 at 4:05 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 41

With details like the processional, exchanging rings, reciting vows, the first kiss, and more, a wedding ceremony can be more complex than expected. There’s no wrong way to arrange the big day, but some prefer a shorter ceremony while others want to make it last.

Will your wedding ceremony be short & sweet or long & loaded with traditions? How long will your ceremony be?

I'm hoping for 30 mins max. I'd rather it be 15 but, we are planning a sand ceremony with our kids.

Whatever the time length, it should be long enough to be the focus on the day, not the cake, not the bouquet toss, not your first dance--The marriage!!

We wrote our ceremony and its 8 pages lol. Thinking about 30 mins. Or at least I hope. We have a welcome, then We are doing extras like lighting a memorial candle, asking for parents blessing, mothers last kiss before the first. That's all at the beginning. Then we go into vows, rings, kiss and prouncment. So I'm guessing around 30 mins

Definitely less than 30. We are doing the normal simple ceremony. No special vows and no religious ceremonies (candle, sand, etc).

I'm not sure really. 15 to 20 minutes I think. we have a ring warming too, but everything else is pretty standard for a protestant wedding.

I would love it if ours was 15 minutes or less. Not really sure what we would like to include just yet but the shorter the better! I went to a friends weeding last fall and hers lasted all of 3 minutes!

I am not quite sure, 15-20? I want it to be sweet but not drag on forever. We are writing our own vows and doing a hand fasting but I don't expect it to take that long.

Keep this in mind, someone will have to watch them. Unless you have a separate room they can go to, kids get loud when together so you will hear them.

I think it will be about 40-45, including the processional. It’s the purpose of the entire day - it should be a little longer !

15 minutes max - short and sweet. We are getting married shortly before sunset in a wooded valley so I need all the light I can get for photos lol

I’m hoping nothing over 40min (hopefully 30) lol I know it may be a stretch since we are doing a tree planting ceremony, writing our own vows & want to do communion (just amongst us), but I don’t want our vows to exceed 3min & we plan to keep everything else straight to the point as well.
