How long did you wait before setting a wedding date?

Decided when we got engaged (FH originally proposed without a ring).

A month or so. We had a rough idea of 'late sept, early Oct 2017' but it wasn't official until we picked a venue

We knew when we didn't want to be married. So we looked at venues, found one and spoke to the church to see if they had a corresponding date and bam we had a wedding date.

We had been engaged for not even a month.

We were engaged about six weeks when we signed our venue contract.

Probably a week or so! The venue we are using, I've loved for years so I wanted to make sure it didn't book up

We chose a date once we found the venue and looked at the options.

We found out venue 1 month after searching. We were engaged at that time about 1.5 months.

To use the venue was more important than the date. Luckily we got both

We knew the date we wanted before we were engaged. When we found our venue though, we had to change it to the day before since our date wasn't available.

The night we got engaged, we figured out a general time. Once we booked venue, we had actual date

2 months only because the venue had to determine the date for us based on their availability. When we first got engaged we had an entirely different wedding in mind (city hall within 30 days) and then changed it to Fall, 2016 dates because we love the fall. Finally settled on an official date a month later based on my venues availability.

You don't have a date until you have a venue booked. We booked our venue about two weeks after being engaged so the venue availability determined our date.

FH couldn't care less about the date. I had it picked before we we're even engaged because I knew I wanted a late September date. I had already discussed it with him before he popped the question and he was fine with it, so that was that!

We waited approx 4 weeks to decide our budget, approx guess list and we officially settled on a date and put the deposit down at 5 weeks after being engaged for close to two months happy planning

I think 2 months. We got engaged in November and took the holidays to enjoy celebrating our engagement with our families and then go into wedding planning after New Years.

I've been engaged a month and a half and haven't set a date yet. We have a season in mind but it's going to come down to the venue we end up choosing and when they're available. We're thinking of having it in the city where our parents grew up so that it's easier for family to get there, so it will have to wait until we're there next month to scope out venues!
