How long did you wait before setting a wedding date?

We picked our date maybe like 2 weeks after we got engaged. We knew what day worked best for us and we both only wanted a year engagement. I definitely knew that I DID NOT want to get married in the summer time in this Houston heat.

We had a month and year the next day. We officially booked our date after about 4 months of being engaged.

Got engaged in February and booked our venue/date early April. I knew I wanted an October wedding and he was just down for whatever I wanted. It's whatever works for you two

I already knew the venue I wanted to we picked a date that was open and far enough away for thorough planning. Found an open date that we agreed on within 4 days of being engaged and booked the venue the next week

We knew we wanted to get married in the spring when we got engaged. We didn't care about any specific date, just mainly wanted April. Once we found the venue we liked (2 months after getting engaged) we picked out date.

I always wanted a 1/12 wedding, but Thursday wouldn't work and for some personal reasons we wanted to be married by August 2017. So we went with 1/13/17. I love that it's Friday the 13th, it's silly but that's us!

ETA: we obviously didn't book for another 1.5 weeks, still pretty quick!

We had pretty much chosen before actually getting engaged. I love the date May 20th and 2017 is the next time it's on a saturday, so before he even proposed he knew that was the date I would love to be married on (the date didn't really matter much to him). Once he did propose, we hardly actually discussed it.

We decided on our date about 3 1/2 months after we got engaged.

We got engaged in July. FH wanted to get married in a year. I told him that was impossible unless we did a December 30th wedding. I really wanted a September wedding because that is the month we met. However, one of his groomsmen got engaged three weeks before us, and his wedding is set for August 2017. It was a little to close for me. FH also did not want to wait until September 2018, so we decided on March 2018.

We started looking at venues within weeks of getting engaged (August of last year) and after realizing the limited availability, we booked right away. So our date was determined by the soonest available...

We choose our date basis on his vacation schedule that we were planning his year..

We got engaged in Nov 2015... picked a date we liked in June 2016... and just put a deposit on the venue a week ago.

Having the right venue was more important to us so we visited those we liked with some dates in mind but with flexibility in mind.

We got engaged this past April 30th (our dating anniversary) and originally planned on getting married the same day in 2018. Until he remembered/reminded me that April 30th is a HUGE tax deadline and his dad is an accountant with his mom working for him. So now it's 4 months later, and we have to find a new date, except he refuses to talk about anything wedding related.

Well we had an idea of when immediately based on our desired month and work schedule. We didn't officially have our venue booked until about 1 month after getting engaged, but we looked at a lot of places in the first month and did a lot of research online.

We had a date several months before we were officially engaged. It was "official" when we booked the church and reception venue about 10 days after we got engaged.

We decided one night while sitting on the couch.. contacted vendors... booked the date for 5 months later.. Went dress shopping.. and we had everything booked before getting formally engaged a month after we decided to get married. We had our destination wedding 3 weeks ago.. It was great.

We got engaged over thanksgiving and sat down with my mom and his mom and looked at our calendars and penciled in a date on Christmas Eve and told our families on Christmas Day!
