How long before your wedding did you buy your dress?

I have 13 months before my wedding and am just beginning my dress hunt. Just wondering how long before your wedding did you buy your dress? Then how much longer until it arrived and you had your final fittings?

It was my first wedding purchase, right at a year out.

I received it 3 months after the order date, and just finished doing my first (and hopefully final) fitting at the end of March. Wedding is memorial day.

Bought mine in January for a July wedding. People were telling me how behind I was in the timing, so I get the impression lots of people buy it 6-10 months in advance.

It's a sample so that meant there weren't concerns of not getting it made in time, etc.

Started looking about 11 months before, but didn't buy mine until last month.

I was really gung-ho about shopping at first, but after a while of not finding "my" dress I stopped looking for a while, then about 6 months ahead of time I got back to looking.

I bought mine in December and they told me it would get here the first week of June. I'm really hoping that it comes in early! Our wedding is in July!

A year and a day. I have only second guessed it (and even that wasn't really very serious) once, and I blame WW ads for that!

I ordered mine at the beginning of Dec, it's supposed to be in THIS month (SO EXCITED). And our wedding is in Nov. I really didn't think I would find my dress on my first go around, but I'm glad I did because they said it would take 5 months to get in : )

I fell in love with at least one dress in every store but so glad I waited and didnt impulse buy. I love my dress. It isnt due in until May Smiley sad. I cant wait to see it again! Our wedding is in November, so lots of time.Good luck!

Originally I bought mine about a month before our original date. I'm not one who has been dreaming of getting married and The Dress since childhood so it was put off for a while. Luckily I was the same size as the mannequin my dress was on so they had one in my size and it only needed a hemming. I also bought mine in the "off season" so the seamstress had an opening a week after I bought it. Our vow renewal is in a little over 2 years, so hopefully I'll still fit. I did wear it for our JOP ceremony which was about 4 months after our original date.

I got my dress in March and my wedding is in September. But I think it's good to look around long before the dress purchase to find out what you like the most.

A little under 12 months before the wedding. Glad I did buy it early because I ordered in on November 19 and because it's a Maggie it's still not here yet!!! Hopefully soon lol! It'll give me about 6 months for alterations which is nice!

Wedding was in October. We bought our dresses in February. Because we got them from a consignment store, we took them home the same day we picked them out.

I purchased my dress last May. It was on sale for $99 and I couldn't pass it up! Glad I did too, because you can't find it now. Smiley smile
