How long before wedding do you send save the dates and invitations?

We aren’t getting married until 2/16/2021. I’m just curious how long before the wedding do most people send out their save the dates and invitations? Is there a certain time frame most people follow?

6-8 months before for save the dates. 6-8 weeks before for invitations.

Well, I am getting married in April 2020, which is 9 months from now, and I sent all my save the dates yesterday!! For the invitations, we're most likely going to send them out early Feb 2020.

I sent my save the dates out on Monday and Tuesday of this week for the end of March.
If everything is set in stone, you're probably fine to do a year in advance for save the dates.

I think it's different for a lot of people! For example, we aren't sending STDs, but we're going to send our invites about 3 months before hand. Wedding Wire also has a checklist timeline that I've found very helpful!
