How long are you taking off for your wedding?

Emily, on July 28, 2020 at 4:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 24
I have no idea how much time to take off for the ceremony. I dont have help and its just me and my mom setting up for our wedding on a Saturday. I would have to set up, put together all the odd and ends, hook up electronics (didnt have money for a DJ) and decorate. Our vendor list is extremely small as i opted to do most myself to save money. I then take it all down once its over and pack up everything im taking back home. Im hoping I can get by with only taking off on Friday and return to work Monday a married woman. What are all of you doing?

I took off Thursday and Friday for my Saturday wedding, then I was off the following week for our honeymoon. I think taking off just one day is fine as long as you do as much as possible in advance and stay very organized.

I took Thursday to travel, Friday to get organized and get my marriage license in that county. I was able to set up Saturday and had the wedding Sunday. Break down Sunday night and travel Monday.

My wedding is on a Saturday and I'm taking off Friday, Saturday, Sunday and maybe Monday, I was going to take off Saturday to the following Saturday but we aren't going on a honeymoon right away so I don't want to burn up all vacation time.

I took the week leading up to it off (we weren't going on a honeymoon right away, and, due to covid, who knows when that will happen) so I could spend time with family and friends that were coming from out of town and still feel prepared leading up to the day cuz I had to haul all my stuff to the hotel as the staging area the day before.

I'm taking Thursday and Friday off just to relax (everything is getting set up by our wedding staff and coordinators) and then getting married Saturday then taking a few weeks off for the honeymoon. If you can take a few days off to get everything organized and not stress that would be ideal. I wish you lots of luck! Smiley smile

Since our wedding is now on a Thursday, I’ll probably take Tuesday & Wednesday off that week, the entire following week for our, and a few days into the week after. Maybe 12-13 days off work total. I haven’t taken a vacation since we went to Italy in 2014 so I’m well over due! We get very generous PTO so I’ll be taking advantage!

I’m taking off Wednesday-Friday before our Saturday wedding. We have family coming in so I wanted to be able to spend a little time with them. We are leaving for our honeymoon that Sunday. So I’ll be off September 30th-October 11th

I'm taking off Friday for my Saturday wedding and planning to take Monday as well. I think if you are doing all the set up and tear down yourself you may want to at least take Monday as well to catch your breath and relax following the wedding weekend.

I took off the Thursday and Friday before my Saturday wedding. I had a planner and DOC and still needed Thursday to pack and finish getting everything organized. We used Friday to travel, unpack, and for our rehearsal/rehearsal dinner.

I was off the week following our wedding for our minimoon.

I'm taking off Thursday and Friday at minimum for my Saturday wedding. Our venue is an hour and half away and I am doing my own flowers so I need to have time to get that done as well as nail appointments, tanning, and waxingSmiley smile
