I have no idea how much time to take off for the ceremony. I dont have help and its just me and my mom setting up for our wedding on a Saturday. I would have to set up, put together all the odd and ends, hook up electronics (didnt have money for a DJ) and decorate. Our vendor list is extremely small as i opted to do most myself to save money. I then take it all down once its over and pack up everything im taking back home. Im hoping I can get by with only taking off on Friday and return to work Monday a married woman. What are all of you doing?

Im in a very similar boat as you. I’m doing a lot of my wedding by myself too. I based it off how much time I could take off. My wedding is in Nov-the slowest month of the year for my job. I have the PTO, so I decided why not take Thurs, Fri, and Mon off.... thurs I plan to do all the floral arrangements/last minute details. Fri will be setup and rehearsal. Mon just to relax a little. I could have only taken Friday off but I didn’t want to be stressed the day before trying to get everything done. I think it would have resulted in me staying up late trying to get it all done.

We had a DW (same state), and took two weeks off. So worth it! Family in town the week of, traveled to DW/wedding, and a few days of a heavenly mini-moon.

I am working a half day on Wednesday, full day Thursday and Friday for my Saturday evening wedding. I only work Monday-Friday so I’m already off of Sunday. We opted to wait until next year for our honeymoon just because of everything going on.

We're DIY most of the wedding. I'm taking off Wed-Fri for our Saturday wedding. Right now the plan is I'm doing the flowers and centerpieces Wednesday, baking for the dessert table Thursday, and running around picking up rentals and small cake from the baker Friday. (He's prepping the food Friday also. And dropping things at the venue. )
I didn't want to cram it all into Friday!I'm hoping I can take a few days off after to take a minimoon, but that's still undecided.
