How long after your wedding are you going on your honeymoon?

Alexandra, on March 3, 2020 at 9:54 AM Posted in Honeymoon 1 27

Initially, I won a trip to Panama (the mountain/forestry region) and recently found out that it can be transferred to either St. Lucia, Barbados, or Antigua so my fiance and I have decided on St. Lucia!! Now with this trip we get a Deluxe Ocean View room included with our stay, but if we travel beginning April 16th we get a complimentary upgrade to a Ocean View Suite (which is obviously bigger, has a living area and balcony spanning the length of the room) - we are getting married on March 19th 2021 - to take advantage of this suite and the full honeymoon experience we wouldn't be opposed to traveling 1 month after the wedding.

When are you planning to go on your honeymoons? Thoughts? Smiley smile

We haven't settled on anything just yet but I'm thinking of a cruise! Simply because everything is included and we would only have to pay for alcoholic beverages and of course souvenirs. We are being budget conscious but also want to have a memorable time. Destination Wedding is April 2021 so I would want to go right after the wedding. Cruise can be 4-7 days in length. Would love to be sail some place warm!

If I were you I would do the upgraded suite and just travel after! You could always do something small if you wanted that mini-moon experience before the actual honeymoon. Especially since winning the trip loosens up some money.

Wait the month! That is a great upgrade for just a few week’s difference. My Fh and I are getting married 4.26 but our honeymoon isn’t until July 11th due to him being a teacher and unable to take days off during the school year

We are spending our wedding night in a local hotel suite, and leaving the next morning to travel about 3 hours for our week long luxurious cabin get away. Our cabin is "The Majestic", it is one of 8 on the property we are staying on.

I would definitely take advantage of that upgrade! Cruises are so fun, and an awesome honeymoon choice! I don't think it is uncommon to wait a few weeks after the wedding to take a honeymoon.

We're going to St. Lucia too! We'll be going on our honeymoon a week after our wedding. Some go right after some even wait up to a year. Before our wedding date changed, we would have been waiting 6 months because of hurricane season.

Awesome!! My dad's side of the family is from there so it will be great to experience that island. I've ever been before!

I would wait a month so that you could get the upgrade! That’s awesome lol we’re getting married on a Saturday and leaving for our mini moon on the following Tuesday. It’s hard to request off where I work so we kinda had to leave right away and take advantage of our time off as much as possible.

Ours will be anywhere from 7 to a year later. You don't have to take a honeymoon right away.

We just got married February 28th and we will be leaving for our honeymoon on March 14th. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal to wait but I'm so ready for our trip! It's been hard getting back into work mode knowing we'll be leaving in 11 days.

We are getting married in September, but because that is the beginning of my busy season at work, we are waiting until January to go on our honeymoon. We are also planning on buying a house that is a bit of a fixer-upper and will probably make good use of all of our free time in the fall working on projects there.

We are waiting several months due to us both being in college. We will be going on a cruise in November and our wedding is in a week!
