How late is your photographer staying?

Zoe, on September 29, 2019 at 10:33 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 12
How soon before the end of your reception is your photographer leaving? Mine is scheduled to leave at 10 pm (reception ends at 10:30) and I am torn as to whether I want to change her hours to arrive An hour earlier and leave an hour earlier, or purchase an additional hour. How late is everyone’s photographer staying?

Mine is done after we cut the cake. We have her booked for 8 hours (12pm-8pm). How many pictures do we need of us dancing and other people can take the pictures of us leaving the venue in our "go away" clothes. Lol.

I had mine leave after the dancing began. We had her 7 hours from 12:30 to 8 p.m. (with a 30 minute meal break). We wanted her there for getting ready pictures and detailed shots and really didn't care to have tons of pics of people dancing all night. We didn't do a "send off" since we didn't plan to leave until the very end.

My photographer is only stay for 5 hours. We figured that he capture the main wedding events. Family and friends can capture what we don’t have. We seen a little game to add to the back of the menu so guest can take photos that we’ve missed.

We had ours all day. He asked to leave a little after the cake cutting (7:45ish). The reception was pretty much over and I forgot he was there, lol. We wound up leaving shortly after. They were still packing up their stuff when we left. I would make sure they are there to get some pics of the packed dance floor. Those are some of my favorite pics!

We have ours all day long, so I'm assuming from about 10:45AM-8:00PM

We have ours for 10 hours. Shell arrive towards the end of HAMU to take details shots and getting ready pictures and then will stay until an hour before the reception ends. Our dances will end a little before 9 so we definitely want all that captured and then shell get some open dancing pictures!

Daughter's package was for "all day coverage," and he was with us from 11 am (after HMU) through the end of the reception at 10:30. At the end of the night it was B&G and the photographer as the last ones in the reception space. (FOB & I had gone upstairs to pack the car.) Daughter & SIL hadn't wanted a "send-off," as they didn't want to miss a minute of the reception; they always planned to be the last ones out. The photographer ended up getting some gorgeous and very sweet pictures of them alone in the venue when everything was over. The banquet captain in charge of everything at the venue at the end of the night told daughter he'd been there 20 years and had never seen anything like it...and he thought it was very cool!

Photographer's second shooter left after the cake cutting, so he was there alone for the last couple of hours.

I'm a little torn on this myself. I'm paying for 2 photographers for 6 hours. I really want two photographers for first reveal with my father and first reveal with my FH. That way we can get both our faces at the perfect moment. Also for the ceremony. I want different perspectives because we are doing the military wedding with the arch of swords. And i would love one photographer to get our first kiss with our family behind us instead of the typical picture from the guests pov. Other than that i think i'll only need one. So i might ask for one to leave early if the other will stay an hour longer. We are doing a sparkler send off which makes for great photos as well Smiley smile

Our photographer came from 3 PM - 11 PM. 2 hours of getting ready, and the entire wedding.

We've got 9 hours and after discussing with our photographer, we're going with noon-9pm. Our reception ends at 11. I think photos of us with our nearest and dearest in a more intimate setting is more important that photos of our guests dancing for a few hours. Especially considering that our reception starts at 5pm so there will be a good balance. I think it's just a matter of determining what photos you MUST have, and going from there.

Mine is staying until 9, the reception ends at 12:30. I figured that will give us about an hour of dancing while most people aren't sweating it out on the dance floor and still relatively sober. I don't need a millions pictures of drunk people dancing, that's what cell phones (and the disposable cameras we are putting on the tables) are for.
