How guests can you seat around a 66 inch round table?

KL Moscato, on March 5, 2020 at 3:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

Hi guys! I'm currently planning to seat 10 people per 66 inch round table, but I have one table that I would like to squeeze 11 in. Is that going to be way too tight?

I've also seen some people saying 10 people will be too tight as well. I definitely need to fit 10 per table and my caterers suggested the 66 inch table so I'm just taking their word on it for now.

Thanks!!

I had ten in mine and I can’t remember exactly how big my tables were but ten already does feel typically right

Typically tight ** so I can’t imagine squeezing eleven

    8 ideally, 10 is a squeeze

I agree with Caytlyn. 10 is doable, but 8 is more comfortable for sure. We had a max of 8 at each of our tables, some with only 6 and they had plenty of room.

Can you do 8-9 people instead? I think 10 would be fine if they were all kids or very skinny people haha but not if people need elbow room to eat and turn around to watch speeches, etc.

I just had my venue tasting this past Tuesday. We were seated at a 66 inch round and there were 10 ppl - we were not crowded at all. An 11th person would have been too tight. The Venue coordinator had previously told me 66 inch round seats 10 ppl and 72 inch round seats 12 ppl.

The company we rented from said if there are average size people sitting at a 66 inch round, 10 is fine. 11 is a squeeze everyone will not be able to tuck under the table.

Thank you everyone for the quick responses! I'm going to ask my caterer if it's possible to switch to 72" rounds so it's more comfortable to seat 10 at and 11 at one of them. I also want to leave the option open to sneak a couple extra people in if we have any late responders!

    We have 48 inch tables.
    8 people to a table.

Following that math, 10-11 people sounds ok.

    60” = may fit up to 10, comfortably 8
    72” = may fit up to 12, comfortably 10
