How far is too far of a drive for wedding?

In your opinion how far are you willing to drive for a wedding? We are looking at a venue that is approximately 45min-1 hour drive for most of the guests. The reason we like it so much instead of somewhere closer is because it is an aviation museum and my fiancé has always had a love for anything to do with airplanes including his career. I personally have driven much further for weddings without much thought, just wondering your thoughts. Thanks!

Last weekend we drove 8 hours one way (16 total) for a weekend. Friday night through Sunday. Missed zero days of work! It was cheaper than flying

That's totally reasonable. FH and I drove to a wedding 3 hours away a few weeks ago. I think it was probably 3.5 hours cause of traffic. I wouldn't do that again if the person wasn't close to us.

But that being said, FH and my families/friends

are so spread out we picked a venue in the middle of the triangle, which means a 1-2 hour drive for everyone

Ours is 45 min from our house. For some guests it will be a 15 min drive and for other locals, well over an hour. I can't imagine anyone saying that's too far. Most people are willing to drive an hour to go to dinner, so I think a wedding would definitely not be a problem.

Most of my family is coming from AT LEAST 3 hours away, but we live in a different town/state than them. Most of our friends, as well as us, are all driving 1 hour.

I once drove from Boston to DC for a wedding. If you're important to them, it doesn't matter the distance, they'll be there.

Depends. My FBIL got married a little over an hour away and I was pissed AF I had to go because I don't like his wife (but I like free cake and booze so I sucked it up and bought a gift and went). If my best friend was getting married I'd fly across the world in a heartbeat. General consensus seems to be an hour is fine.

I don't think an hour is too bad. Are there any hotels near the venue? It may be a good idea to get a room block for people who don't want to drive back after.
