How far in advance did you buy your wedding bands?

We purchased our bands a little over a month before the wedding. DH's ring was available to take home that day, and mine had to be custom made so it took a little longer. I had my ring about 3 weeks later. I would go sooner rather than later though.

FH purchased my band in February. His late father left a ring for him (size 9). I had it resized to a 12 and had it "dipped" so it was white gold instead of yellow. He will only wear that on special occasions. He will wear silicone bands most of the time. That would be a good idea for your husband. My band came to me in 2 weeks. His resizing only took a few days, but our jeweler does everything in house. I would go somewhere this week to make sure you have enough time.

Purchased our rings two weeks ago. FH knew which one he wanted but it took me a while to decide. My e-ring is getting cleaned and resized this week and we're expecting all rings back next week.

We just ordered ours on Saturday and our wedding is next Friday lol The rings should be in by this Saturday.

OK you guys are making me feel better! The Knot checklist told me to get the rings at the beginning of July and I felt like that was on the early side but then I thought, "Oh shit, what if it actually does take two months to get rings?" When it comes to wedding purchases and services, nothing would surprise me at this point.

We are getting both wedding bands customed so we are meeting with our jeweller nine months before (she needs time to gather all the non-diamond stones that she'll need for my band).

A jewelry store near me is having an event with discounts this week. So we may potentially buy this week. It's a little soon, but it'll be one less thing we have to do later.

We purchased ours about 7 months in advance. We knew what we wanted, and we had the money set aside, so we saw no harm in buying them early.

We are going ring shopping sometime this month so we can get an idea about what we want and get his size. We may order that day or wait until September, but I rather have it done now.

We're actually going today after work!! We're still 4 months out but I didn't know how long it would take it get them ordered or resized or whatever. Plus, I'm trying to get everything done before my surgery so I don't feel rushed by the time I've recovered

I just picked up ours last week from being engraved so now you can start looking.

We purchased ours like 7 months in advance. Why hold off on something you know you need to do? I preferred to do it when I had time then be stressed last minute

@OHP I know you definitely CAN, but for him its a question of comfort and most of all being used to wearing rings. I'm not much of a ring person myself so I know how he feels -- I don't really enjoy the sensation of having a ring on. So that's definitely not going to be my hill to die on! I'm perfectly comfortable with him wearing his ring on social occasions when we go out and not wearing it at work or when we're just at the house.

@Private_User832 Believe me, if it was just up to me, those rings would be ours right now. But my FH is the type who waits until the last minute on certain things, like, "Oh, it's my mom's birthday today. What should I get her?" So we have to mentally come to a compromise between my neurotic buying it a year in advance and his wanting to pick it up on the way to the wedding otherwise we would have no peace!

We got ours about 5 months before, but if he has a ring and it just needs sized, it shouldn't take longer than a few weeks depending on where you take it and what its made of.

Better to have them at home than not at all. We got ours back in February and they have been in the safe since.

We purchased our bands in January for our October wedding. FH custom made my ring so I had to get a custom wedding band too. Since it was to be custom made they needed my engagement ring for 3-5 weeks which is why we did it so early so we could have my engagement ring back before photos.

I got mine about 6 months before. H finally went and got his about a month before.

Following! I've been dragging my feet on this and to add to it FH wants an inscription on his. Going to order it next week

Just picked up FH's last weekend! I'm in the camp where if I know I have to do something, I just do it instead of waiting for the appropriate "time."
