I got mine a few months ago, and my wedding isn't until October 2017. I just had to because it was 60 percent off. I say buy it, and if adjustments need to ba made make them the month before.

I think you should really try it on first. I shocked myself with what I liked online vs what I actually liked on my body. It would suck to have to resell a dress if you end up hating it!

I started trying on dresses at a year out and didn't order it until I absolutely had to..at six months I believe. I advise people to do the same.....just in case you see something else.

You should probably go in to try on dresses. You never know what you are going to fall in love with till you have it on.

I agree with PPs! Try on a bunch! You might be surprised what you end up liking best.

That said, I all ready have my dress for my October 2017 wedding. It's sitting in my mom's closet, where I can't look at it and obsess over it. It needs alterations, but that's almost a year away.

I ordered mine exactly a year out from my wedding date.

I see why you want to get this one, it's stunning! Have you tried on any dresses, yet? Many brides, myself included, end up with a completely different style dress than they envisioned would be the most flattering on them. I think before you order this dress, you should visit a dress shop and try on a bunch of different styles to make sure this is the silhouette you want. If possible, I think you should try to find a shop that carries this particular dress so you can try it in before committing to it.

It's recommended to wait until a year away from your wedding to purchase a dress because you want to avoid dress regret. Our tastes and bodies change over time, so committing to a dress too early can cause problems if we change our minds or find something better. If you do decide to order this dress now, the smart thing to do would be not to look at any other dresses (pictures or in person), so you won't risk accidentally falling in love with a different dress than the one you already bought.

I bought mine nearly two years before my wedding! Definitely go in and try it on if that's what you want! It's a gorgeous dress!! Good luck!

I have tried on different style of dress and I still love the mermaid style.. i was thinking of going in to a bridal shop tomorrow and just trying something close to this dress if they don't have it.. I want a blush pink color dress.. and not too many dresses in that color in my price range.. so when I saw this one dress I just have to have it.. seller got back to me and now I will ask to see if she can send me pictures of the actual dress..

I ordered mine 16 months out, I love it! No dress regret here (yet) because I stopped looking, Except Pinterest and IG keeps throwing dresses in my face which is annoying and teasing me but I remember how I felt in my dress and that's what matters most. Please, please do not order a dress without trying it on first! I went in wanting a dress and it looked terrible on me and I was drowning in it as it was a ballgown, and the consultant pulled something similar to Mermaid fit and flare and I felt sexy and beautiful in it! Be open to suggestions and always try it on. I could have waited until we chose the venue and until next January 2017 for new styles but I was excited like you and wanted to start in on it! Make sure you're decisive though! There will always be a better dress from what I've been told so honestly it matters what you feel you look best in! The consultant told me don't try on more than 10 because than you'll be overwhelmed.

I would also suggest trying it on. Make sure if you are ordering online it is from a reputable website that carries this line. Lots of dress sites online are from China and you get the dress and it's nothing like you ordered.

Adding to the trying on before you buy - I ended up hating a dress I was pinterest-lusting over once I tried it on, it fit so awkwardly on my body.

Also, I saw that you said something about how you'll work out so you fit in it - almost everyone's ideal is to lose some weight/tone up before the wedding, but it's very easy to let it slide. Never plan like that, you never know when life is going to get in the way and then you'll be stuck paying way more for alterations or have to scrap the dress entirely because they can't let it out enough.

I'm June '17 and still haven't purchased yet. I'm glad I didn't purchase a few months ago when I was sure I'd found "the dress" because now I"m questioning it a lot. If you're not the type to have buyers remorse or you're not a second guesser or over-analyzer, then purchasing that far ahead of time shouldn't be an issue (I am all of the above, hence the waiting until next month when I'm home next).

I agree with pp, try things on before buying, and don't buy a dress from China. 70% off a Sottero dress?? I'm guessing the site is a Chinese knockoff site. If that's the case, it likely won't be anywhere near as nice as the real thing.

I say get your wedding dress as soon as you find the right one! I'm going dress shopping for the first time in January 2017.....some might say it's too early but I say do it now.

I bought my dress for my 09/2017 wedding in March or April. I had just lost a bunch of weight and was feeling good about myself, so i went for it. As for a brand new Maggie Sottero for 70% off, that does seem a little sketchy to me. However, I bought a blush Maggie Sottero (Haven) for 997 so its definitely possible in your budget. I would call shops local to you and ask to try on the dress first!
