How early did you send your invites?

Sara, on July 24, 2019 at 5:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
I know this question has been asked a million times, but I’m curious. Our invites arrived a week ahead of schedule (yay!) so now FH and I have more time to sort and stuff envelopes and I’m super excited! Many of our guests are traveling, so I’m leaning towards 10-12 wks ahead rather than the traditional 6-8. Thoughts?

I think 10 weeks is perfectly fine! I know I did mine around 10-12 weeks too

We're starting to send ours out in waves for our December wedding.

(We have a few long distance travelers).

I send mine about 6 months before because it was a destination wedding and I wanted to give people enough time to plan and book. It was kind of pointless lol. People booked and plan 3 months before. If you send STD with website info that should be enough so 10 weeks sounds reasonable.

I wouldn't do earlier than 10 weeks. Many people won't be able to commit to a wedding 3 months in advance or they will lose it and forget to RSVP. I would send them at 8-10 weeks. Otherwise, I think you will be trying to track down a lot of RSVP's right before the wedding.

I'd do three months if you've already sent save the dates

We sent ours at 12 weeks! I set our rsvp date 8 weeks ahead because I wanted to cushion time to track down the missing RSVPs, and had already spread our date via word of mouth to most of our local guests, and I’ve been flexible with the literally handful of people who’s RSVPs are pending work schedules. But overall it was really nice to have the majority of our numbers back early, for planning purposes, and most people were able to commit that far in advance! It’s really a personal preference. I wouldn’t go sooner 12 weeks, or people might just forgot about the invite. But 12 weeks and 8 weeks was the sweet spot for us!
