How early can you start harassing people who haven’t Rsvp’d??

Megan, on April 12, 2018 at 11:13 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 23
Everyone seems to want numbers... my venue, my caterer... how early can I start contacting people who haven’t yet RSVP’d? Most of the guests I haven’t heard from would need to travel to the wedding, and I want to make sure their invites didn’t get lost in the mail or anything to I thought I’d reach out. But I don’t want people to feel like I’m harassing them... the wedding is June 16!

I would wait until a few days after you set your RSVP deadline.

I didn’t set a deadline... maybe that will be my downfall...

Date twins! My RSVP due date is May 16, and I will start reaching out to people that following week. I have to have final numbers one week before, but would like to have them sooner. You can always just check with people to make sure they got their invite.

My MOH did the same thing for my shower. She reached out to people individually a couple weeks before. I would suggest reaching out a month before.

When do your vendors need the numbers? Just curious - may I ask why you didn’t include a deadline? I’ve never heard of not doing that! I would say reach out a week or two before the vendors need final numbers.

What date did you put on the RSVP for the guests mail back by? You need that so guests know what the final date they can respond is.

If you did not put a date on the RSVP card to have it mail back by I would start contacting people 1-2 weeks before your final numbers are due.

When did you send your invites? And when do you need your final count by? Maybe that can factor in.

My wedding is on June 16 too!

My RSVP deadline is May 18th. It gives me two weeks to call around to talk to the people to RSVP. I thought much due date for my venue was 21 days prior as that is what the contract stated. I talked to my venue planner and he told me 15 days prior. I'll probably give until Monday or Tuesday after the RSVP date before I start calling. I just sent my invitations on Monday.

Oh no! No RSVP date? I would reach out about a month prior. That’s when some of our vendors needed numbers. We didn’t get a majority of our RSVPs until a few days before the deadline, unfortunately. People love waiting til the last second!

Date twins! Isn’t is sneaking up? I feel just yesterday it was a year out 😅 I have my rsvp deadline as May 16th so I plan on giving it till then to start to contacting people. All of our numbers are due about 2 weeks from the date. We’ve had 30+ people rsvp so far and we just sent out our invites a week ago!

Wait, what? You didn't give a RSVP date? How did you expect people to know when to respond by? Who advised you not to put a date?

We gave people a two-week buffer before our final numbers are due. We're June 29 and our date is May 25.

Most vendors will give you a set date of when they need numbers by. They should not need final numbers back this early. Most vendors need numbers about two weeks prior. You should just be sending out invites now, definitely not harassing people about responding yet.

When are your final numbers due by? You didn't give yourself much of a buffer to contact people who don't reply.

My wedding is June 16, but I have not even sent my invites out - they get dropped in the mail next week. my RSVP date is May 26. I plan to send reminder texts the 27/28. My final headcounts are due June 1.

I am getting married the week after you and just sending my invites out now. Did most people know of the date ahead to make travel plans? If they did I wouldn’t worry too much about that. Out rsvp by date is June 1 so I’m not going to start contacting people until about June 8. And as for the vendors all of ours have only asked for an estimate and we will give them final numbers the week of our wedding. Are they asking for final numbers sooner?
