How early are you/did you get to the ceremony venue before the ceremony?

Ab, on February 28, 2011 at 8:46 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Hey ladies,

I was thinking 30 minutes just to maximize photog time before since we are doing a first look. I realize this may vary by venue and type of ceremony, etc. But was wondering what you all thought..we are getting ready in a hotel, not the church. We would go in a back way so incase guests got there early they wouldn't see us beforehand.

Our wedding starts at 4. I am hoping to take pictures with my family before the wedding and for him to do the same so the only pictures we have to take after the ceremony are the combined photos.

With that being said I am arriving at my venue at 2pm in hopes of taking photos from about 2:30-3:15 before the guest arrive for a 4pm ceremony.

Our ceremony and reception are at the same place, but not sure if that makes a difference to you or not.

As of now, the plan is to be to the venue by 2:00 for a 3:30 wedding to get some pics done ahead of time. I will still need to get into my dress once I get there, so I think this will give us just enough time.

FH and the boys will be getting ready at a hotel, I'm not sure about me and the girls yet, the venue has a bridal suite that's available 3 hours before the wedding. I might still get the hotel because I want to take pics with the entire BP before the wedding

and I want FH to do the same without us crossing paths, and I might get to the venue an hour before. I'll work on this as I get closer

We arrived at 10:00 AM for a noon wedding. Then again, we were having our hair and make-up done, and getting dressed, at the synagogue.

We have to arrive as soon as the Park allows us. We were unable to reserve the night before to set everything up. So it is going to be crazy hectic for us. Smiley sad We have around 4 hours to set everything up, if we are lucky.

Yikes! I plan on getting to the church 15 minutes before the ceremony starts. I am getting ready at the hotel and the church is small so there is no place to hide from guests.

We got our hair and make-up done and walked two minutes to the church to change, we arrived about there about one hour before the ceremony. The time was helpful as my wonderful helpers worked with the florists, set up the programs, and we got in some pre-ceremony getting ready shots.
