How Does the RSVP Feature Work on the Wedding Website?

Joy, on November 25, 2016 at 6:56 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

We are using the wedding website WW offers, and I'm debating whether to use the RSVP feature.

My concern is that it's a small wedding, no kids, and we definitely don't want people writing in plus ones or their kids. Can anyone explain how this works? Do they have to type in a name that matches what we have in the system already? And if it doesn't match it won't take it?

I'm not sure how the WW RSVP works. But the knots is terrible. Unfortunately that's the one we are using. The knots allows whoever to RSVP even if their name isn't on the invite so I have to pay close attention to it. So I recommend not using the Knot .

Hmmm... We used TheKnot, over 3 years ago, and didn't have any trouble. We typed everyone's name into the function and noted that they had to input the exact name, that was on their invitation. Everyone responded 10 days before our due date, except for one couple. My then 88 year old grandmother could do it.,

@dreamer, I was irritated when I found out about it. Unfortunately, it's already on our STD and RSVP cards so we cant use another site. I found out about it when my mother in law used the function to pre RSVP for someone who wasn't on our guest list. After that I tried it and it allows who ever to RSVP and just adds them to your guest list without notification.

I've set mine up on WW and it seems to work well! Whoever you type in on the guest list would be the only ones who can RSVP - you can choose whether they have to put both first and last to match or just last name I believe. There is no spot for them to just fill in a plus one so you don't have to worry about that! I have some guests that will have a plus one, so what I did was under the guest list put their first and last name and then typed 'Plus One Guest' as another guest under that household. That way when they go to RSVP, the screen will show all guests under their household so they can RSVP for their plus one and choose meal, etc. I just made sure to mention they will need to put their guests first and last name in the extra comments section at the end of their RSVP!!

Thanks everyone! I'll talk to FH, but definitely good to know. Anything to stay more organized and even save a little money and time stuffing invitations!

Kayla: You just set up a wedding website through here (Planning Tools -> Wedding Website) and it's a page option. You have to input or upload your guest list for it to work.
