How did you organize your registries?

Amanda, on March 8, 2016 at 12:28 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

If you have multiple registries, did you only include certain items at certain stores? For example, if I have a dinnerware set on a registry from one store, so should I not add another dinnerware set to a different registry? I don't want to have multiples of what I don't necessarily need, but I don't know how to keep track and ensure that guests won't buy one set from one store and another guest will purchase one from a different store's registry.

We went through our registries online after we visited each store. We removed duplicate items, leaving it only on the registry for the store that sold it at the lowest price. If you have a dinnerware set on one registry, you do not also need it on a second registry.

Pick one dinnerware set and leave it at that. I'm using myregistry.com. It puts all your registeries in one place. You can sync them and link registries from stores. You can also add items from stores that don't have registries.

Make as many registries as you need, however do not put duplicate items on them. do not register for dinnerware at BBB & Target & Macy's. you will wind up with mix-match sets. it is ok to put fine china on one and dinnerware on another though. do not register for anything you don't want or need just for the sake of registering.

I split the things we registered for between two stores, on an excel sheet. I knew that I wanted mostly kitchen things from BB&B, and more decor/appliance from Target. We chose a duvet cover from Target, but found sheets we liked at BB&B.

So I kept a spreadsheet to make sure there wasn't overlap between the registries we have going at both stores.

We didn't duplicate any items. We mostly did everything at BBB, then realized people might want options, so we did a smaller Macy's registry with mostly decor (lamps, bookends, etc).

We picked a lot of our major stuff at BBB. After that we went through Target and Kohls and scanned what we wanted. After that we went home and compared them online and deleted any duplicates.
