View Quoted Comment That is so similar to us. He messaged me on Okcupid right when I was tempted to delete my profile (again). We talked for hours on that first date. Instant connection. We have been together 5 years, it'll be 6 in October. Online dating, in my experience, has its pros and cons like any other type of dating.

He and I were invited to an engagement party, I knew the bride, he knew the groom. I showed up a little late, but was able to sit a talk for a few minutes with the bride and while we were discussing planning and details we were watching then guys play football on the beach. One guy ran hard and twisted his ankle in the sand, but just before that happened I asked my friend who he was. He was super tall, bald and bearded and I loved the idea of him right away. He noticed me later on I'm the evening, we talked briefly then he walked me to my car, cuz I had to leave for a rehearsal. I waited a moment to see if he'd ask for my number and he never did. Shortly after he messaged me on Facebook looking to get together and we agreed to go to the movies. Gave him my number because it would be easier than fumbling through Facebook. A few hang outs and a couple months later we were dating. It's been a little over 2 years since got engaged at the same beach where we met and we'll be getting married on our 3rd anniversary!

He messaged me on Facebook telling me I'm beautiful and asking if I was single, we talked often and it took about 2 months for me to agree to finally meet him (I was a single mother with a lot going on and very little free time). We met up at one of my dad's bands gigs (god love him, he met me and most of my family in 1 night), and it's safe to say it was love at first sight. He told me that he told the uber driver on his way home that night "I'm going to marry her".
