How did you know he was the one?

When he came home on leave from nc to Michigan without taking a break just to ask me out in person, we talked for months before long distance so when he did that it proved he was the one

I honestly don't know how. It was just there, like it had always been there. It was kind of like a moment of dejavu. As if we'd known each other before, but in reality we had never met before he asked me out. Kind of weird now that in trying to put it in words...

There wasn't one moment per se, but I remember one night about a month into our relationship when I thought to myself "this guy may just be the real deal."

Easiest relationship I've ever been in - unlike anything I've experienced before (and yes, I was married prior - should've trusted my instincts!) Even with the stress of wedding planning, moving, and balancing two stressful jobs we seem to just get through things together with ease. It's wonderful.

Lori, thats honestly one of the best ways to explain it ive ever heard! "As if we'd known each other before" - thats exactly how it felt with FH.

We had our first date at the college we both attended. We're both socially awkward people but we just clicked. We got coffee and talked so much that he was almost late for work. It was the first time I was perfectly comfortable on the first date.

We were at 100% from the moment we met, and fell in love fast. But about three months into the relationship I found out I had a fully funded position at a grad school across the Atlantic and I was terrified to talk about it with him and break him. When I finally brought it up, he acted like breaking up wasn't even an option. He said he would do anything to make it work with me, even if we'd be in an LDR indefinitely. I had never experienced a love like that, he loved me so much he didn't care how hard our lives got as long as I was in it. That's when I knew!

I agree with @Lori. I just sort of happened. FH was the easiest person to fall in love with and we haven't looked back since.

I remember 5 months into our relationship, we were at some dirty basement undergrad party and FH was at the beer pong table and I turned to my friend and drunkenly slurred that I was going to marry him.

She thought I was insane.

We were going to college at the same school and when he decided to transfer to a school 4 hours away. When we were apart it was hard. When we were together it was so great that it made up for all the time apart. We decided that if we could survive two years of long distance it would be nice to have something to look forward to. Now we have a countdown to when we get to be together forever! I knew I needed him in my life when I was without him!

There wasn't that one moment when I realized we were meant for each other, there's always been this sense of comfort. I've never been so comfortable around another person in my entire life. We were "friends" for a few months before we were official and even then it was just so easy to be with him.

I had a ex that was harassing and stalking me a few months into FH & I relationship. I called FH and he came over in the middle of the night to beat his ass! I knew then he was the one with his strong, sexy, chocolate self! Lol

I knew he was the one when he surprised me with a trip to the Macy's flower show. I rarely spoke on how much I loved flowers but he noticed from all my floral designed clothes. Now he brings me flowers on our anniversary. I love that man and I'm watching him play with our son while I type this. You ladies made me teary eyed lol

When we were having some problems and my reaction was to shrink away from him, but he wouldn't give up! He met me after a class midterm and took me out and it just proved to me how much he really cares! Even that early on!

I don't believe in love at first sight, but we both pretty much knew that this was something special after our very first conversation!

Like other people said, I just saw him and had deja vu, like we had met before. It was a really odd feeling that I've never had with anyone else.

When we first started dating he was deployed. We never argued and stuck it out through the whole deployment. He was always making me laugh and making happy even when we were so far apart. When he asked me to marry him he said he had been all over the world and there was no place he would rather be than next to me.

Yay I explained it will enough! I feel so relieved that you guys get what I mean. Lol

When we first started dating it was long distance. We traveled a lot to see each other. I had just been on a trip to visit him and was in the airport waiting for my ride. We were face timing each other and some older woman walked by me and said "whoever makes you smile that big, is someone you should marry!" All my friends and family told me that I seemed so much happier since we started dating.

I'm not sure if there was an exact moment, but I love the way he looks at me. I can be 2 days unshowered, hair a mess, and sweatpants, but he looks at me like he won the lottery and i feel like he actually SEES me, if that makes sense - body, mind, soul. He knows who I am, who I want to be, my goals, my dreams and encourages me to go after them. Other than my best friend and my parents, I've never had anyone who backs me 110% like he does. Sometimes we fight like mad, but I was in a relationship before where we agreed on everything and it was boring; safe and comfortable, but dreadfully boring.
