How did you do your hair? Plus size brides

Private User, on March 6, 2017 at 10:45 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

I was thinking of doing a half up hairstyle but I was curious as to what other people did for their hair on their wedding day. I also like some of the more messy romantic looking styles, but I'm not sure because it's a long day and I feel like at the end of the night my hair wouldn't keep its shape..

I didn't want to spend the money for a hair trial so now I'm having this dilemma. Wedding is in 5 days!

Edit: Yes I have an appointment to get my hair done. And have a veil. I'm a plus size bride so I was asking to get opinions on what they think is most flattering.

Or what their hair looked like. It's really hard to tell when all you see is stock images of a size 0 model.

Your wedding is in 5 days? Have you booked someone to do your hair?

You know your hair... you also know what will make you more comfortable...

Also not really sure where the plus size thing comes in since this is hair but okay

Have you booked someone to do your hair?? I think half Up looks good on most people. Can we see what you look like? Are you wearing a veil?

Go on Pinterest and get an idea. I would be super nervous if my wedding was 5 days away and I didn't have a hair style in mind. Can you go one night this week for a trial? What if it doesn't come out right??? You'll be kicking yourself.

Also, I don't think being plus sized has anything to do with your hair style.....

I'm debating on an updo myself. How long is your hair?

My hair is medium to long length, blonde. I have looked on Pinterest but it's just hard to tell what would look nice because none of the models have my body type. When I look for clothes or styles I like to see how it might look on my body type. I'm a size 16 btw. So I did a search for plus size brides so I could see how they styled their hair.

I guess my body double would be like Adele. If that helps

I'm a 16 and here's my hair. I didn't like it all up. So I went with this look.

Hair is hair, not sure why your size would dictate what looks good or not.

I understand why being plus sized is a factor in determining a hair style. I find that my face looks fuller when my hair is down. Hair swept to one side (like a low or high side bun) with some hair strands to frame your face might be very flattering. Examples picture.

@glitterbomb um, because Chins are also chins, and faces are also faces and they come in all different shapes and sizes. Something that looks good on one person, may not be flattering for another.

I think your hair style should coordinate with your dress, personal taste, and venue, not specifically your body type. I've seen some amazing hairdos on plus size women that won't look right on me because of the differences in hair types.

What does your dress look like? Does it show off your back? Or have straps? Are you wearing a big necklace or no necklace?

What about your venue? Is it a windy one like a beach? A banquet hall? Outdoors with no wind?

Have you thought of braiding? So it's not completely loose and at the mercy of a windy venue, but still down and styled.

I just saw that you have a veil, maybe an updo. ETA: we probably aren't the best ones to ask. We don't know your hair length, personal style, of you have combs in addition to the veil etc etc etc etc etc.
