Oh yea I definitely am so glad I did. I never used a dating app before, I was raised on the you'll find the one when you aren't looking, and the if it's meant to be it will happen on its own, you don't need to force it. So I guess I just thought going on a dating app was a bad idea. Plus my parents are old fashioned and didn't want us meeting someone online. But I'm so glad I finally listened to my friend and did it. It was the best decision I made.
Our sophomore year of high school! We had the same class & met that way. We didn’t really talk/hang out until senior year when we had mutual friends.
The complicated background: my high school bf (prior to my FH) and I dated for three years & broke up the summer before senior year. My FSIL dated my ex after I did (most of our senior year - she was a junior) & it was a whole damn fiasco. She was my high school bully. Then eventually, like April-ish, my FH got to know me better. About a month before graduation he kissed me & the rest is history! 😊

I used plenty of fish and it was the same thing. So many guys messaging me only looking for a quick hook up. I never messaged any of them back, my fiance ended up messaging me and he was a true gentleman so I decided to message him back. Our 3 year anniversary is August 15th.
He was sitting in front of a theatre on 54th St in NYC... but wearing a Phillies shirt.
The producer of our shows had given him the key to the theatre where I was rehearsing/he was acting, and he knew the writer and director for my show.
I had a Phillies glitter tattoo on my arm and had just checked the score.
Me: "You're a Phillies fan, too? The Marlins are killing us right now!" (THEME OF THE PAST EIGHT YEARS)
Him: *thinks he's heard an angel speak, turns his head*
...Love at first words.
Turns out the producer had very deliberately asked DH to let us in, because he knew I'd see the Phillies shirt and swoon. The producer was a mentor/friend of mine, and knew I'd had some rough years. He knew DH well enough to "approve" of him for me.
He made it to our wedding... but passed away right before our honeymoon.

My parents didn't know we met online until I dated him for a month. I wanted my parents to meet him first before I told them the truth. My parents love him because they can tell he's a really good guy. And now that my parents know they are really happy I went on the dating app. They tell my fiance all the time how much they love him and how they have never liked a single one of the guys I dated until they met him.

Yea it is the best. And his family gets along great with my family. My parents were so happy when he asked their permission to marry me. They told him they already see him as a son in law. It definitely makes me so happy to.
