How are you doing your Vows?

How are you doing your Vows? 1
My FH and I decided we’d write our own vows so our vow books came in, I’m kinda scared to write in it cause they’re so cute! But, what are you guys doing for your vows? Are you making your own original vows? Taking an already made one? No vows at all? I’m curious!

We wrote our own... honestly it was the highlight of the wedding, for us and our guests (many of our guests came up to me and said it was the most beautiful ceremony they had ever seen 🥺). Self written vows just makes it so special and personal!

I was thinking about doing the same exact thing! We are still debating between writing our own vows or not. I think we should, it will make it more intimate Smiley smile

We decided against writing our own vows for our ceremony. Instead we'll be writing each other a letter to read the morning of. We're pretty private people so our deepest thoughts and feelings we'd rather keep between just us and stick to the standard(ish) vows Smiley smile

We’ll be writing our own vows. I got letter pressed notecards with our names at the top that we’ll write our vows on. I wanted something that we could frame for our room and be able to see the written vows.

We are writing vows to each other that we will read before our first look. We have written some exchange of vows for the ceremony which are sweet and simple. Fiance isn't much of a public speaker and we like the intimacy of sharing our vows privately.

Our officiant sent us a long (42 pages) document with several different ceremony scripts and said we could choose one or put a couple different ones together or write our own.

Last night we finally looked at them all together and chose one we sort of liked, then took out the vows and replaced them with something traditional, and added in a closing sonnet. There's no way we could write our own vows, it's too stressful. I'm scared that I'll write something that's sort of funny and cute and he'll write something super sentimental and then I'll feel bad, or vice versa.

We came to the conclusion that it doesn't matter what we say because we have a feeling the whole day will be a blur. At least we know now what we're agreeing to, LOL. Smiley xd

FH is pretty shy and doesn't like attention unless he actually wants it. I'm a writer by nature so I've already started writing mine. I don't know if he'll be writing his own but if he doesn't, I was thinking maybe talking to him about doing a first look and reading it to him (maybe he'll write his own if it's just us) or just sending it to him with his groom box as he gets ready.

Your fiance sounds so similar to mine. I absolutely love to write and I know I'll have so much to say during the vows, but he's super shy and doesn't really like speaking in front of people especially intimate and personal thoughts... so we're trying to find a happy medium.

We're writing our own vows and then after we read them ALSO doing the traditional ones so we have the best of both worlds! CUTE books by the way!
