Hotel Xcaret- Destination Wedding Playa del Carmen

Jenmarc, on August 12, 2019 at 1:30 AM Posted in Planning 1 2

I am picking the wedding planning back up in order to work out the budget. Our wedding is Oct 2021. We have a guests list of 20, we are having it at Hotel Xcaret...however they won't allow us to book until we are 12 months out. They also will not help with any wedding planner service until we book.

We have the budget of what things are going to cost almost locked down...but I am running into one wall.......

.....on average how much to flowers and decor costs in Playa del Carmen?

I have reached out to 3 vendors that the resort "permits" us to work with and none of them have responded with quotes.

We aren't wanting anything grandiose and fancy since it is a small wedding. We do have questions on how much on average do the following items/services go for? Just trying to get a budget together currently.

- Lounge seating for cocktail hour

- Altar, aisle, Bride/Groom, Reception, and Sweetheart table flowers (marigolds, chrysanthemums, gladiolas, roses, greenery)

- Candles for aisle, cocktail hour, Sweetheart table and receptions (multipurpose that can be moved)

- Twinkle lights to be hung over ceremony area. We are wanting the ceremony area to be turned into reception space.

- An Ofrenda (Alter to remember our 11 loved ones who have passed)

- We are having a respectful and non-stereotypical Dia De Los Muertos Themed Wedding.

Thank you for any information you may have, may have experienced for your own special day, or are familiar with the budget needs for these items...IT IS VERY APPRECIATED!Smiley heart

I got married at the Now Sapphire in riviera cancun. I have a few friends planning destination weddings (Mexico x2 and Jamaica X1) right now as well. As far as i can tell, all inclusive resorts handle pretty much everything on a very short timeline. We booked one year in advance and were given all our options and told to fill it out and reply with our choices ONE MONTH BEFORE THE WEDDING. this sounds insane, right? Right. But it’s not. I messaged back and forth with our wedding planner a few times prior to our ‘deadline’ and we knew what we wanted after that. We sent it in 5 weeks before our wedding and our planner replied back immediately with some questions to confirm. It was EASY.

We upgraded a lot. All of the things you mentioned were options either within our package or offered as upgrades.

Hey there!! Welcome to the WeddingWire community! It’s great that you are getting such a headstart on your wedding planning.

As the pp mentioned, if you have an all-inclusive wedding package with your venue, then most of the things that you have mentioned will be included.

Have you asked the hotel for information on their wedding packages, so that even though you aren’t booking yet, you will have an idea of how much it will cost you?

What made you decide to have a destination wedding in Mexico?
