Hotel References for Puerto Rico Weddings

Lydia , on May 10, 2019 at 8:57 AM Posted in Planning 0 4
I guess this is a question for those who are having a destination wedding in Puerto Rico...

I’m stressing and having issues on deciding which hotels to list on my wedding website for my guest..I don’t want them to get turned down because of the expensive rates but at the same time I don’t want them to stay at a rink a dink hotel. I want to make this a smooth planning process and inexpensive as I can for my guests. I need to decide this soon as I have to get my Save the Dates out by the end of this month (which list my wedding website). I plan on supplying shuttle service from two hotels of my choice to the venue the night of the wedding.

Any suggestions on reasonably priced hotels in the San Juan/Condado/Isla Verde area? And should I consider a room block?

Hi Lydia, I know of two that I have stayed at in that area that weren't as pricey. At wind chimes boutique hotel and Canario Boutique hotel in San Juan. Last time I went was April this year and it was around $90 per night. I am sure they change around busier seasons so you might want to do some research before settling.

    Hi there Lydia.

Puerto Rico is a beautiful destination for a wedding!

If I was in your position, I would consider looking into a hotel block. They are especially helpful when planning a destination wedding as it really helps guests find convenient and budget-friendly accommodation. Have you checked out the one on WeddingWire? - Hotel Blocks

It’s definitely worth checking out to help you make your decision on what to do.

You fill the form out with details and get a hotel block quotes in 24 hours. Details include how many rooms needed (best guess is ok), ideal star rating, how much you think guests will spend, etc. You can also select hotels to include in the quote, you could include the two you have picked so far. Having a hotel block may also make planning this shuttle service easier!

How many guests are you expecting to fly in for the wedding?

Hi! I am wondering what you decided. I too am trying to find hotels for my guest to stay at and it’s something I am stressing over big time.

    Hi Ashley,

    Sorry for the late response.
I’m working with the Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde. I originally chose this hotel because my family and I usually stay here once a year and are very familiar with the area. But I honestly don’t recommend a hotel block, at least not at this hotel. It has been very difficult with them. They want a head count on rooms beforehand to guarantee a rate and lock in a contract. I constantly have to call them and add additional rooms as my wedding guest book and the rooms get “full”. Not sure how other hotels work but I would recommend reaching out to others first. But it is a beautiful hotel, and certainly one of the cheapest rates I found. If you’re having a smaller wedding, then the Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde may be best suited for you. It’s defiantly my biggest stressor. Makes two of us Smiley sad
Hope I helped! And good luck!
