Hotel Gift Bags

Janarda, on June 12, 2019 at 9:47 AM Posted in Planning 0 19
Just wondering, for those that are hosting out of town guests... will you be greeting them with a gift bag upon arrival ? If so, what will you be putting in your bags ?

We will most likely be doing this. I plan on putting bottled water, ibuprofen, some snacks, and an insert about transportation options

It's a little unnecessary, but we're going to do small gift bags. There were city area museum employees at the last bridal show I went to, and they mentioned that as long as you give them a little heads up, they'll put together free packets about the town - maps, places of interest, etc. So we'll put those in the bags along with some water bottles and probably a few snacks. Nothing big and certainly not expensive, but I think it'll be nice.

We had simple bags at the hotel for guests. They had : a note, with welcome party and wedding shuttle details; water; Advil; salty snack (goldfish crackers); sweet snack (famous Amos choc chip
cookie snack pack); mints; and some Hershey’s hugs and kisses just to be cutesy 🤣. We kept it super simple, but I know I am always snacky and thirsty at a hotel!

We did bottles of water, breakfast bars, crackers, trail mix, cookies, candy and mints as well as a schedule for the weekend. Everyone loved it but they are not necessary.

We gave these out at our welcome party. We just did snacks/drinks and a letter from us with the shuttle schedule on the back.

Our hotel hands out bags on check in, so we aren't greeting guests. We have guests checking in Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday so it would be too hard to greet. Our bags will have two water bottles, a welcome pamphlet I make, a "things to do nearby" paper, two kinds of snacks "his favorite" and "her favorite", a bag of wedding breakfast tea, a little packet of "happy hour hangover vitamins", and a mini shout wipe pack.

We’re going to pick apples the weekend before and include a few in mini bushel baskets, plus some sweets from a local bakery we love, a guide to the area and maybe a little something else.

The baskets will either be painted to say “We love you a bushel and a peck!” or “Thanks a bushel!”

I toyed with this idea, and ultimately knew my FH would kill me if I added anything else extra to our budget LOL. I don't think they're necessary, though a nice touch if you can afford it!

We're planning on doing this. We were thinking just water, some Motrin, a small bag of something, some things about the city, menus to our favorite restaurants in the city and then possible just a $5 gift card to the coffee shop next to the hotel, but that's not final.

We were going to do this but ran out of time/money and our guests ended up choosing accommodations in several places. My family hosted a welcome BBQ dinner for everyone.

As a guest, I appreciate water & snacks (local snacks would be awesome), maybe mini sunblock if an island wedding. But I would toss sunglasses, flip flops, koozies, and other trinkets I don’t need.

We are not doing actual gifts but we ordered custom hotel door tags from Vistaprint that will have the schedule and all necessary info for the weekend. We are also hosting a welcome party at the hotel bar the night before the wedding. I'm hoping an (additional) evening of free drinks is enough of a welcome present Smiley smile

I’m not because We aren’t even staying at the hotel, it’s simply for guests who want to utilize it. We have a local wedding. The hotel is for maybe 2 complete out of state guests and those who have to drive far but want to stay the night close. I think welcome bags are unnecessary unless it’s a complete destination wedding for all parties.

We won’t be doing a gift bag, I don’t have the money to do that nor do I think it’s that necessary.

Skipping it. Most of our guests travel enough for their jobs where it's not a big deal to them. If I had older or less travelled guests I might do some snacks.

We're still on the fence about this ourselves, it may just depend on how many people book a hotel room. If we were to make one I would include: water bottles, maybe a snack or two, a thank you card with a details reminder, and some tourist information.

We did. We had the boxes placed in each guest's room before arrival along with an itinerary, a card addressed specifically to that guest and a bottle of wine. My welcome boxes included:

    - caramel popcorn

    - chili lime peanuts

    - cookies

    - granola bars

    - ponytail holders

    - chapstick

    - makeup remover wipes

    - 2 bottles of water

    - a hangover kit that included Advil, Emergen-C, Shout wipes, bandaids, mouthwash, mints and a granola bar.

I'm actually planning mine right now! I just bought some super cute "Welcome" bags off of Amazon and I plan on going to costco soon to buy the contents. I'm thinking bottled water (with a custom label that my MIL is making!), some pretzels, mints, granola bar, a guide to the city, postcard from the city and a thank you card!
