Honeymoon on a budget

Brittany, on November 20, 2019 at 9:00 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 9

Hey ladies! My FH and I are working on a budget for our honeymoon. I need some ideas of where to go or what to do. We live in Orlando, FL currently and have done everything around here. I was looking at cabins in North Georgia and Tennessee but I'm not sold on it yet. He also mentioned about renting a camper and doing that around places but that was kinda pricey. Any ideas are greatly appriecated!

When you say “on a budget”, what is that amount? It helps knowing when offering suggestions.

Under 1500 you could definitely do a cruise! Thats what we did. It was 1145 for 4 nights, 5 days to the Bahamas with Royal Caribbean and that was with the "spacious balcony room", it is even cheaper if you don't get a balcony or get an inside room. It was amazing! Also, we booked through cruisesonly.com and put down a deposit of like $100 and then just paid some every month up until, which helped us since we were on a budget as well. Do keep in mind that you will have to pay for gratuities and if you want to go on excursions (snorkeling, scuba diving, etc.), but all food and almost everything on board is free. We had a blast!

We are getting married in Tampa and doing a cruise! It is definitely within budget, everything else I looked at was too expensive.

I also like the idea of doing a cabin in the Smoky Mountains. If you're not sold on that, I would look into something like Asheville, NC that has both cabins and some cool things to do.

I was thinking of cruises! There are a few 3-4 day ones that are reasonable still on Carnival. I will for sure look up cruisesonly.com.

    Thank you!

We just got back from a trip and we spent just under $2,000. 8 days, 7 nights at an all inclusive in Riviera Maya, Mexico. It was $1,500 for the room, $125 for a snorkeling excursion, $60 for parking, and $180 on tips/food at the airport. We also spent $100 on sunscreen/aloe/travel size items/medicine (I was coming off a cold). We already had passports and we use a travel credit card so our flights were “free” to us since we purchased them entirely through points. You can still have an awesome vacation for $1,500!

We did a honeymoon cruise and spent $3,000. It was AWESOME and we loved it, but it was more expensive than we thought it would be.

I think renting a cabin in a beautiful scenic area would be amazing as a honeymoon! I think a cruise would also be fun if that's your bag, but personally we spent so much time in our room on our honeymoon that I was glad we were in a huge, comfortable suite (all-inclusive resort).

I agree with other suggestions of cruise or TN cabin. I guess it depends on the kind of honeymoon you are looking for. The cabin will be more secluded, possible private hot tub, and laid back. The cruise would be a little more upbeat. I think either would be wonderful! With you living in Orlando, you are bit far from several ports to cruise out of. Good luck!
