Honeymoon Cancelled :

Sarah D., on February 13, 2013 at 6:06 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 20

Carnival announced today that all sailings through April are cancelled. Which means our honeymoon... We got a refund and get 25% off our next booking but it still sucks.. FH was really looking forward to this. And with only 6 weeks to go, we don't have time to get passports. Pretty crappy day today.

Ooohhh noooo!!!!!!! I'm so sorry!!! That's terrible Smiley sad and definitely short notice. Maybe you can book a Bed and Breakfast nearby to get away and still have some special time together??

That sucks. But I'd check on the passports. You can get them expedited.

Yeah we are going to look at our options tonight. The biggest blow is that FH only gets 1 week of vacation this year and the week of the cruise had to be approved 6 months ago, so this is the only vacation time he gets this year.

    +1 on the expedited passport

    6 weeks should be good

But question - dont you need a passport for a cruise?

Really? Just because one ship had a problem they're docking all of them? Is there something they discovered wrong with all of their engines?

That sucks. But you do have time to get passports.

It could also be a blessing in disguise. There are some pretty good last minute deals out there.

Try Key West or Southwest Florida (Naples, Marco Island, Ft. Meyers). It's almost the Caribbean, and it's domestic.

We were going on the Triumph, which is the broken ship...

Some cruises you have to have a passport, but we didn't for this one, we only had to have birthcertificates.

Isn't it just that one ship that the sailing were cancelled on? Were you guys scheduled on the Triumph?

No you do not need a passport for cruising as long as you leave and return to a US port.

Please contact me, there are other ships that are available, and if you need a passport, you still have time to get one!

I'm so sorry that happened to you. Blessings are sometimes disguised as misfortunes. I hope you find something you two can do that will be romantic and fun for the two of you.

You def still have time to get your passport- do it asap and it should be fine. But there are many other cruise lines that do a great job! All is not lost! Consider finding a travel agent too to help you out since it is last minute! I know Royal Caribbean just sent me an email about a big sale going on!

I second Randi's option of Puerto Rico, although you have plenty of time to do your passports. Oh and you could also check our other cruiselines like Royal Caribbean.

That is so frustrating. You have plenty of time to get passports though and lots of other honeymoon options.

There's always something with wedding planning.

Our budget is pretty low, so I will be spending today doing research. I will check all of that out. Thanks.
