High Heels, Low Heels, or Flats

Hey everyone. I am starting to get down to the nitty-gritty of planning and kind of spaced on shoes... I am a heels girl. Granted, I am not on my feet all day. Hey everyone. I am starting to get down to the nitty-gritty of planning and kind of spaced on shoes... I am a heels girl. Granted, I am not on my feet all day. I love wearing really high heels while sitting at my desk job with the occasional walkabout. I cannot decide what to buy.

-High heels don't usually bother me, but again, I am not spending hours on end on my feet (but when I do have to walk around in them for an hour or two I am fine). Plus they make me feel more confident. But if... scratch that... WHEN my feet start to hurt I will not be a happy lady.

-Flats will be comfortable and easy. My ceremony will be outside, so walking in grass and dirt will be easier! Plus with my FH being almost the same height as me, I wouldn't be towering over him. But when I wear flats I feel kind of blah.

- A low heel sounds very appealing. I am looking at a pair that are 3.5 inches tall. I think it is the best of both worlds. It would possibly give me the confidence boost I want, but not so extreme that I am crying in pain. The only problem is, I have never worn low heels. Will they give me the oomph that I want? Will they be just as painful as a high heel? I don't know!

What have you worn to your wedding, or what are you planning to wear at your wedding and why? If you wore a high heel, did you want to cut your feet off at the end of the night? If you wore a low heel, did they give you the confidence and elegance that you wanted? If you wore flats, did you feel just as beautiful as you would in a heel? Sorry, these questions are redundant, but I really can't make up my mind.

I would say definitely buy in advance and wear them to get used to them! I went with a low like 2.5 heel, and brought glittery flats for the very end so not to fall on ice and snow outside.

Check out heel pads and ball of your foot inserts!

If you're going to be outside, of think flats are the best option. I wouldn't want to risk the heels getting stuck or sinkiny in grass or dirt.

This also depends on another thing. The size of your dress and the length of your train. The weight of your dress will add extra pressure on your feet and if you have a long bustled train it will weigh directly on your back. Especially if you are dancing, and even when you aren't dancing you will be visiting with your guests so you will be up on your feet all night.

If you don't need to enhance your height, go for a low heel. I know it doesn't sound glamorous, but I've just been looking at the www.badgleymischka.com website, and they have some low shoes there that are quite beautiful. You can also wear ballet shoes, but don't wear points, they will ruin your feet if you don't know how to walk in them. Another place to look, it sounds odd, but ebay. About a year ago I snagged these adorable low heels with rhinestone starfish on them from a lady who had ordered two pairs for her wedding and was selling the extra pair.

I’m doing heels for the ceremony and flats for the reception. I caught sales for both pairs of shoes. I also just picked up 2 boxes of rescue flats for guests (good pre-order sale right now).

I'm wearing a low heel and switching to flip flops which are most comfortable for me at the end of the night. what's going to be most comfortable for you after 5hours? because you will be in the shoe before the wedding, for pictures, during the ceremony, pictures, reception and dancing

Badgley Mischka is the designer and I got them from Macy’s. They were on sale for about $125 off, plus I had a $10 coupon, so they were only $100 for shoes that are normally $235.

I have had quite the shoe dilemma myself. Finding a nice 2.5 -3 inch heal has been challenging enough because I'm so picky, but on top of that FH pokes fun of every pair of shoes I've brought home. He calls them Granny shoes. Now I am no fashionista, but I do know how to dress cute and classy. I am seriously on my 3rd pair of shoes. Everyone keeps saying "wear what you want" or "who care what he thinks", but I do care. I don't want him to think I look like a granny on the day we get married! Hopefully this next pair will work out, just waiting for them to come in the mail. I plan to change into the white and black shell toe Adidas at the reception anyway.

Im wearing sandals because I'll be outdoors for my wedding ceremony. I chose these because I wanted to walk with ease plus f.h is not much taller than me. I'm also not the most graceful in heels, I look like a newborn deer trying to walk in heels.

I bought mine at Shoe Carnival. They are 2.5" heels, glittery and not anything I'd normally wear. I'll wear them for the ceremony and until my feet start hurting then it will be either some flats or just bare feet.

Low heel or flats for me. The annoyance of hurting feet from high heels was not very appealing or something I wanted to experience on my wedding day.
