High Heels, Low Heels, or Flats

Hey everyone. I am starting to get down to the nitty-gritty of planning and kind of spaced on shoes... I am a heels girl. Granted, I am not on my feet all day. Hey everyone. I am starting to get down to the nitty-gritty of planning and kind of spaced on shoes... I am a heels girl. Granted, I am not on my feet all day. I love wearing really high heels while sitting at my desk job with the occasional walkabout. I cannot decide what to buy.

-High heels don't usually bother me, but again, I am not spending hours on end on my feet (but when I do have to walk around in them for an hour or two I am fine). Plus they make me feel more confident. But if... scratch that... WHEN my feet start to hurt I will not be a happy lady.

-Flats will be comfortable and easy. My ceremony will be outside, so walking in grass and dirt will be easier! Plus with my FH being almost the same height as me, I wouldn't be towering over him. But when I wear flats I feel kind of blah.

- A low heel sounds very appealing. I am looking at a pair that are 3.5 inches tall. I think it is the best of both worlds. It would possibly give me the confidence boost I want, but not so extreme that I am crying in pain. The only problem is, I have never worn low heels. Will they give me the oomph that I want? Will they be just as painful as a high heel? I don't know!

What have you worn to your wedding, or what are you planning to wear at your wedding and why? If you wore a high heel, did you want to cut your feet off at the end of the night? If you wore a low heel, did they give you the confidence and elegance that you wanted? If you wore flats, did you feel just as beautiful as you would in a heel? Sorry, these questions are redundant, but I really can't make up my mind.

I'm wearing either ballet flats or sneakers, depending on the weather. It's my normal footwear and I'm already taller than hubby. He appreciates it when I wear flats.

I can't even walk in heels so I'll be wearing either flats or very small (1"- 1 1/2") heels

I will probably wear a heel for the ceremony but bring a pair of flats to the reception just in case. I used to be a heels girl but haven't worn them much the past few years, so i'm probably going with a shorter heel. I like these so far

I'll be honest, I'm most comfortable in my converses so I will be wearing white converses on my wedding day (maybe deck them up a bit). It all depends on what you are most comfortable in! What you can do is do heels for the pictures and maybe the ceremony, but for the reception switch into some flats that would be more comfortable

I plan on wearing a small heel or flats. I get sooooo uncomfortable wearing heels!!! I couldn't imagine myself trying to wear a big heel. Also, FH is just a few inches taller and I don't want to end up being taller than him!

I wear heels to work everyday, and work 8-12 hour days. After awhile my feet have gotten used to it, but every other week my feet really want a break and I have to go out of my way to wear flats, which make me feel not as professional.

With that being said, when I'm at home, I actually prefer to be barefooted, ha!

I'm getting married on a creek in the Smokey Mountain, I'm wearing a medium heel (its about 2-3 inches I think, a square heel not pointy, so easier to walk in). Later I'll be barefoot.

If my wedding wasn't only 20 minutes long I'd probably go the heel route, than have a short heel or flats for dancing. Though personally I'm only comfortable dancing in a heel that gives me plenty of ankle support, so its a bit contradictory. I'd probably end up having three pairs of shoes, ha! Flats for when not dancing, heels for the wedding, and heels for dancing.

I got some super cute sparkly heals for the ceremony, and then some white converse with glitter on the toe and am gonna change out the laces to ribbon for the reception. I want to be cute, but not kill my feet.

I went with flats because I'm all about the comfort. And I'm so glad I did! I personally didn't feel blah at all because my dress made me feel so beautiful and no one could see my flats (except during our dance...choreographed foxtrot). If you're worried flats will make you feel blah, you probably won't like the shoes I purchased, but I got a pair of pointy flats from Rothy's. They are grey with a little metallic thread for some subtle bling. I still wear them to this day. They are THE most comfortable flats I've ever purchase and they are machine washable.

I am not a heels girl, so i am debating between barefoot sandals and a flat, or maybe a very low chunky heel. But wld love barefoot sandals except it is an outside wedding

You seem like the perfect person to wear heels for the first two hours, and then switch to sandals for the rest! It's what some of my cousins did!

I'm wearing 3.5 inch heels. I am not a heels girl, but I can walk comfortably with them. I did all my dressing up as a Geico employee a few years back and got my fair share of practice in heels, but any other time I ran from them.

I think I'm going to do something like this. Heels for pics, but low sneakers for ceremony. I'm having terrible finding something with Arch support though that also looks cute. I hate the flatness of the inside of Converses

I'm having the same dilemma. I will most likely have two pairs of shoes - one for ceremony and one for reception. I feel my dress is too formal for the cute sneakers I want for the reception. The ceremony will be outside, so I'm a little nervous on wearing high heels in the grass; Wedges aren't really my thing. Hopefully I'll find some wide heels I love or a different option will present itself.

I am thinking about wearing low dancing style shoes for the day. That way they will comfortable, low-heel, and easy to dance in. Hopefully I will be able to find a cute pair! Smiley smile

I’m wearing heels for the ceremony and sneakers for the reception. My heels aren’t too high (3.5” only), which is pretty much what you’re considering. My FH is 8 inches taller than me so I kind of need those heels for the ceremony and the pics, they’re comfortable and they won’t kill my feet. Just as you, I’m a heels girl, I can’t go out in flats, because I’d feel underdressed (just by the shoes). However, we did get matching sneakers for the reception because it’s a fun and practical thing for us, since we both love to dance and with all my family there, I’ll be dancing nonstop all night long!

Never a heels girl, but I just got these gorgeous flats from Betsy Johnson on Zappos. I'm a 10 with wide feet and these actually fit like a dream!

I am wearing flats for many reasons. One heels hurt so bad I have bone spurs in my feet and make wearing heels extremely difficult even when I do wear heels it can only be for a couple hours at most or I end up taking them off. Two I am so clumsy lol I fall on my bare feet much less heels. Three I am already taller than my groom lol it is quite hilarious when I wear heels around him he looks like my kid. So no heels for me.
