High Heels, Low Heels, or Flats

Hey everyone. I am starting to get down to the nitty-gritty of planning and kind of spaced on shoes... I am a heels girl. Granted, I am not on my feet all day. Hey everyone. I am starting to get down to the nitty-gritty of planning and kind of spaced on shoes... I am a heels girl. Granted, I am not on my feet all day. I love wearing really high heels while sitting at my desk job with the occasional walkabout. I cannot decide what to buy.

-High heels don't usually bother me, but again, I am not spending hours on end on my feet (but when I do have to walk around in them for an hour or two I am fine). Plus they make me feel more confident. But if... scratch that... WHEN my feet start to hurt I will not be a happy lady.

-Flats will be comfortable and easy. My ceremony will be outside, so walking in grass and dirt will be easier! Plus with my FH being almost the same height as me, I wouldn't be towering over him. But when I wear flats I feel kind of blah.

- A low heel sounds very appealing. I am looking at a pair that are 3.5 inches tall. I think it is the best of both worlds. It would possibly give me the confidence boost I want, but not so extreme that I am crying in pain. The only problem is, I have never worn low heels. Will they give me the oomph that I want? Will they be just as painful as a high heel? I don't know!

What have you worn to your wedding, or what are you planning to wear at your wedding and why? If you wore a high heel, did you want to cut your feet off at the end of the night? If you wore a low heel, did they give you the confidence and elegance that you wanted? If you wore flats, did you feel just as beautiful as you would in a heel? Sorry, these questions are redundant, but I really can't make up my mind.

I wear heels for work everyday. Mostly block heel and I do some walking and go up and down the stairs but I sit in my desk majority of the time as well. I decided to go for a mid/low heel because I want to last all day. At weddings there’s a lot of standing so I couldn’t just pick my usual high heel.

I went for a low block heel for comfort and not too much height since FH is only slightly taller! I’m happy with this decision! As you said, best of both worlds!

I bought these heels for the ceremony and I’m ordering some sparkly keds or some sort of sneaker that I might personalize for the reception.

I too am a heels kind of girl but I chose flats.
    1) my fiance is a little shorter than me already so I don't want to tower over her
    2) I want to be comfortable the whole might.
    3) my dress/train is long enough so no will see my shoes any way

I kept going back and forth on shoes as well and ended up ordering boho sandals on Etsy. My fiancé is almost a foot taller than me so heels wouldn’t have been a problem but I am clumsy and the thought of wearing heels all night sounds dreadful (at least to me). I also figure people won’t pay too much attention to the shoes as your dress covers most of the foot. I found a pair of sandals that are blingy and still look bridal. It all depends on your style and the look you want! Here’s mine

I think I will wear something a little more dressy like a small heel/wedge for the ceremony then flats/dressy flip flop for the reception. I have messed my my ankle in the past few years so just thinking about twisting my ankle or wearing heels makes me cringe.

I am wearing a 5 inch heel that i picked up from dsw. Love them because i can use them also when me and my FH go out as well on the weekends (after the wedding). But i know that my feet may or may not hurt at some point during the wedding so i also plan on getting a pair of flip flops to change into just in case

I'm a heels girl too, I was thinking about finding a wedge of some kind. I have worn them before for events at work when I'm walking or standing a lot and they give me the height I want and are relatively comfy!

I want to wear something like these! My muscles will hurt especially by the bunyon area (I don't know what else to call that spot) but I don't think I'll have any issues with blisters or actual discomfort in that sense since the straps are large, silky and comfortable looking!

I am considering doing a heel for the pictures (Lol)... only because I like like heels but I love being comfortable more. My wedding is outside and I don't want no mishaps step on a rock or something dumb like that. But def will have some comfy slides if I do for the reception. So maybe your heels for your ceremony and a flat for your reception that you can change into when your feet start to bother you.

I'm wearing 4.25" Badgely Mischka heels because I'm too vain not to. And I bet they're going to be killing me by the time I get to the reception. So I'm wearing sparkly Kate Spade Keds for the reception.

I am wearing a pair of ivory lace converse and decking them out bridal themed. My dress is long so very few people will probably even see them, I am one who would rather be comfortable and even though I feel more “formal” in heels, I would end up taller than FH which isn’t what I want. Plus walking in the grass will be much easier!

Is your dress long? Will you have it hemmed based on your shoes?
I had 2.5 block heels that were tall enough for a boost but after 10 hours in them I was done. It was important to me that I would wear them again and within budget. Mine were very intricate but complementary to my dress.
Ultimately depends on what you want! Good luck! Somehow finding the perfect shoe takes longer than the dress hunt (for me anyhow).

I would definitely do flats! I have almost the same problem, my hubby is just a few inches taller than me (I am getting him dress shoes with a bit of height so he doesn't look too short). Our ceremony is outside and reception inside, but I don't want my feet to hurt all day, so I am getting some super cute, super comfortable flats that don't break the bank. I found some on Amazon I really like: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077VLCP4P/ref=twister_B07BXY2NJG?th=1&psc=1

I'm wearing a low heel. I wanted some sort of heel to feel elegant but comfort was a top priority.
