Help! Late wedding

Sumay, on April 19, 2021 at 10:16 AM Posted in Planning 0 3
Hi! So we are getting married in November in NY. Our ceremony isn’t till 7:30pm! In NY in November sunset is normally around 430 pm. Ideally we wanted to take pictures during the day time when there’s some sun out. But we are also fine with taking a few pictures at night as well. So basically a mix. So I’m wondering if anyone has advice on what to do with our bridal parties and ourselves for such a long amount of time between pictures and the start of the ceremony. Also typically how long do photos take. Thanks!!!!

I am unsure if this is a good idea. You would need at minimum 1/2 hour to do pictures with the bridal party. So with getting ready etc.... by the time your ceremony roles around you would have already been ready for approximately 6.5 hours. Thats an incredibly long time for makeup and hair to stay ceremony fresh. Plus what a long day for everyone.

takes 1-2 hours to get everyone ready. however long to get to where you want to take pictures. 1/2 hour to 1 hr for pictures. sunset at 4pm so at least 3pm to start. makes getting ready time approx start at 1pm

Hi Sumay! Can you move the ceremony start time earlier in the day?? A 5:30 or 6 o'clock ceremony would eliminate a ton of down time for you and your bridal party!

You could also scope out indoor photo locations, to see if there are well lit and pretty places to take pictures inside your venue!
