Help! I don't think I'm going to fit into my dress when I go for fitting...

Former MDLS now Mrs. K, on August 22, 2010 at 10:17 AM Posted in Planning 0 7

Okay, when I went and found my dress they told me I was in between two sizes and asked if I wanted to order the larger or the smaller size. Me, being the optimist, said to order the smaller size. Then I gained 15 more lbs, but I've lost those but still need to lose 10 and I have to go in the bridal shop in three weeks! Do you think they may be able to do a corset back (alter it). Has anyone been in this predicament and what did they do?? Smiley sad

I am in between sizes as well. I'm not sure where you got your dress but, they should be able to let it out without having to make it a corset back. Iam not positive but I believe they can make it at least 1 size bigger by letting the seams out.

Letting it out will depend on how much extra fabric the designer leaves in the seams, You usually get about an inch or two total at most to work with. If that won't be enough you can look at having it made into a corset back

I was also between sizes & ordered the larger size because I didn't trust my ability to diet/exercise consistently. I know it won't make much difference, but I'd cut most of the salt out of your diet- processed foods and soda have a lot of salt. Americans consume too much salt in their diets, anyhow. I've noticed that I can "gain" as much as 5lbs of water weight if I eat salty foods- engagement ring goes from too lose to snug. Also, I know it's not good for the longterm, but maybe you could try the Atkins diet for those 3wks?
