Help estimating how much baby's breath I need

Monica SC, on June 27, 2015 at 1:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

I have 3 galvanized buckets in varying sizes (just like these) that I am using on our guestbook table. I want to fill them with baby's breath that I am going to order online from BunchesDirect.com. Each bunch is about 10 stems. How many bunches should I order?

Probably like 7-10? I found the reviews on Costcos baby's breath online were really helpful in estimating how much you can make out of 100 stems, so maybe look at that and see what you think based on how wide your buckets are?

The reviews on Costco were very helpful for me as well.

Be aware that baby's breath may look fluffy but it takes a lot to get it there. My sister used it for the bridesmaid bouquets and she had to go get more because it condensed too much when arranged

You'll need more than you think to get the pinterest look you're going for. I actually really like the look you're going for (not a fan of BB mixed with other flowers, but an abundance of it alone is quite beautiful -- especially in the galvanized buckets). Splurge and buy a lot of it. It looks great when it's full -- not so great when it isn't.

Thank you Centerpiece. I had planned to buy extra to use here and there, so I definitely will make sure I have plenty.

You should also cheat and fill the bottom of the buckets with the green Styrofoam that you can buy from craft stores so you don't actually have to fill the entire bucket with flowers!

I ordered from costco for my centerpieces. Used 300 stems. I was able to make 16 centerpieces and about 20 small paper cones.

I need help with this too! I need to make one large all baby's breath bouquet, 3 smaller bridesmaid bouquets, 3 small boutonnieres, line a 6-8 ft fireplace mantle, and fill 40 jars (with not a lot in each jar). Any help?!

Bloomsbythebox.com sells wholesale baby's breath by the bunch. Our bunches are 8-13 stems and we also have a variety called overtime that looks stunning on it's own. It's great for exactly what you need it for. I would suggest about 2 bunches per bucket for the really full look. The overtime we sell has larger blooms too so it's more white than green if that makes sense. Feel free to send us an email with any other questions you might have! ******@**************.*** Good Luck!!

Hi, I just saw the picture if you galvanized buckets if you still have them I'd be interested in buying them from you! Also how many Bunches of baby's breath did you end up using? I'm considering doing the same thing. Thank you

Hi Beth. I don’t have those anymore. I got married in 2015 and they are long gone. I will try to go back and figure out how many stems I wound up ordering. 🙂
