Hello! Any recommendations for Thank You cards?

Reese, on December 27, 2019 at 10:10 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 16

Hi, my wedding was on December 1st, 2019, and I will finally be getting my wedding pictures this Sunday. I would like to send thank you cards for those who sent gifts. Any website recommendations from those who have ordered cards in the past? Thank you!

We ordered ours from Minted and loved them. If you don't want something personalized, generic ones from Target work just as well.

We ordered ours from Minted. We did custom thank you cards and were very pleased with how ours turned out.

I've always had good experiences with Vistaprint. They also usually have coupons or sales going on that help with costs.

I got ours from Ann's Bridal Bargains and was very happy with them. The price can't be beat and it looks like they're having a New Year's sale right now so you could save even more!

Don't wait for to add your pictures. Your thank-you notes are already late. People need to know you received their gift and were pleased with it--and they need to know within a couple of weeks of delivery.

I agree with Cassandra. I would go ahead and send basic thank you cards now. If you'd still like to, you can send the photo ones later Smiley smile

I think it is okay to wait to get your pictures back! Shutterfly is great too!

I haven't done my thank you's yet, but I did design them and matched them to my invites, which I printed at Canva. It's free to use and you can do so much customization it's crazy. I think it was $20 for 50 full-color invites (I don't know if that is expensive or not since I didn't look at Shutterfly or Minted). I will note, however, that these aren't folded cards - they were just front and back, postcard (or invitation) style. My thank yous will say "Thank you from the new Mr. & Mrs." and I'll include a photo.

As for timing, you're fine. You have time to send your thank yous, and people understand you were JUST married! It's been less than a month and you're a busy person! If there was anyone waiting to hear from you, a phone call or nice email will suffice until you get your photos back and can send out paper thank yous. We live in a digital world, after all! Might as well take advantage of it. People will love getting photos of you, though, so just because you call or email, be sure to also send that hard copy thank you - it will be appreciated!

To save time for yourself, you could go ahead and print out address labels now, which will make sending them a breeze when the time comes. Smiley heart

I think It’s totally fine to wait for your pics. A thank you card sent is still a thank you card sent regardless of when it was sent. We left for our honeymoon a week after our December 7th wedding and still have not sent them. The reason being is that we were dealing with house stuff the week after and things have been crazy. We will be sending them when we get back in January. I greatly Recommend vistaprint and Canva. I made our Christmas card on canva and had we have printed them I would have gone to vista print.

We used Minted with a 20% off coupon. I think it's ok to wait to design your cards with your wedding photo. Certainly don't bother sending 2 sets of thank you cards.

We also used minted and mailed them today after getting married in early November. The general rule of thumb is to send them within 3 months of your wedding date. We’re right under the 2 month mark for ours and were able to use photos. The sooner the better but try not to exceed 3 months.

Minted!! Don’t worry about these arbitrary timelines. You are moving quickly enough (and wow your photographer is super fast!!!) I’m sure you paid good money for your photos and that the photos are stunning, so, yes, share one with your nearest and dearest as your thank you card!
