Head Table: Who Sits there?

My daughter just told me she envisions having a head table, which I thought she was not having. Who sits at the head table? Just the bridal party? Or do the spouses of bridal party members sit there, also? I'm concerned most about my DIL who would be left with, at best, cousins of her husband that...

My daughter just told me she envisions having a head table, which I thought she was not having. Who sits at the head table? Just the bridal party? Or do the spouses of bridal party members sit there, also? I'm concerned most about my DIL who would be left with, at best, cousins of her husband that she doesn't know well, to sit with if she can't sit at the head table. What is normally done, or what are the options? Any thinking outside the box that can work here?

@Richard - FFS you are DEFINITELY speaking about someone else. If one was so inclined to read the entire thread - which is CLEAR you didn't - or bother to check my wedding date - also CLEAR you didn't - or look at my BAM posts - DEFINITELY CLEAR YOU DIDN'T - you should walk away understanding several things (1) I already had my wedding (2) I did a King' s table with all my BP and their SO's (3) my guests and my BP were WELL HOSTED!!!!

Stop judging people's ideas based on what you would or wouldnt do and hiding it behind "it's so rude" or it's "so selfish"! It's your F'ng opinion that is all it is - and you are entitled to it - and everybody has one and they are entitled to theirs as well!

Jesus Terri, calm the fuck down. It's not that serious.

Leave it to WW to provide the drama I avoided by skipping my family's Thanksgiving this year.

@LillyBean - What makes you think I'm not fucking calm? ETA: If there's drama in this thread I sure didn't bring it.

I think we need more information. OP is not a bride, she is a MOB. She has said on another post that when her son and DIL got married, she was not happy with some of the hosting, but did not interfere and NOW wants to tell her DD what to do. We really need to know more about what this poor hosting entailed. I see a disaster happening if the bride thinks her SIL did not host her well, but now her own mom is pushing for her to be considerate of the SIL. OP has asked for other possibilities. Celia had a great thought, ask the bride to seat all SOs of WP at the same party. I think another option is just to put MOH, Best man, their SOs with the bride and groom. I think there are more issue than normal head table issues.

Oh I don't know, maybe it's the caps lock, maybe it's the crazy attitude you're exuding. I read through the thread, you definitely contributed to the drama.

I dont see anyone else getting bothered by others not looking at their BAM either... self reflection is good for the soul, girl.

@Hollie M - I'm an ex-Navy spouse so I've been in that situation several times myself! A Kings table is basically a head table that includes the SO's of the BP.

OK, I get the picture, and I think I'm now up to speed on today's thinking about these issues. Thanks, everyone.

Now, how do I close off this thread?

@GoodMOB - You should see an option to "hide" it. That will take it down.

Click on "Edit" and you will get this window to hide it if you are on the mobile app....

I wish there was a way to 'close' a thread once it goes beyond say 50 comments, cuz that usually just means a drama has been started in the comments. Unfortunately, you can only hide your thread; but then WW gets cranky when OPs do that, too....

That would be nice, along with a search function in the forum so it wouldn't feel like "groundhogs day" re-living the drama that always seems to ensue on some of the hot button WW topics.

There is a search feature on desktop only...but it seems most are on mobile & it does suck that there isn't one available. But must say, I do love the 'jump' on mobile : )

GoodMOB just one more tip: never take advice from anyone telling you to hide your thread. That's a great way to turn off the regulars from replying to your threads in the future. Just FYI.
