Hawaii Honeymoon Tips & Advice Please :)

Jamie, on January 2, 2020 at 9:42 PM Posted in Honeymoon 3 4

My husband and I got married October 19! We decided to wait until now to plan the honeymoon. We had a wedding weekend and then the holidays hit!

We are hoping to go to Hawaii in mid-April because it is also my 30th birthday!

Does anyone have any advice on where to stay, things to do, where to eat, flying, car rentals, etc.? Any advice is appreciated! Right now we are thinking of going to Maui and possibly another island maybe Kauai?

We don't want the big city feel but we also don't want super isolated. Super romantic would be nice!

I went to Maui with my fiancé about 2 years ago. We stayed in Lahaina and it was nice!! Although I thought Waikiki was so much prettier. We did everything from hotel, flights, and rental car through Costco! Definitely do a luau and the road to Hana!

Kauai is absolutely beautiful and very calm! We stayed at the Marriott one time near the airport and the grand hyatt in the south. I highly recommend the grand Hyatt if you can afford it because it’s such a beautiful hotel! There are a ton of hiking trails and you can swim/snorkel and even take a helicopter ride.

Here is the link to our hawaii honeymoon we took in July: https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/bah-hawaii/334fb5b96701643f.html

It was amazing & the only thing we would change is adding a few more days! We went to Maui for 3 nights & Oahu for 4 nights. In Maui, we stayed at the Royal Lahaina. An oceanview room, rental car & daily breakfast buffet was $365. We upgraded to get a jeep, but the $365 was normal car cost. So pretty affordable and the breakfast buffet was AMAZING. The jeep was fun & felt very Hawaii. We rented a much smaller car in Oahu through Avis and it was SO SMALL. We flew with Southwest and enjoyed it. Maui was really nice, very relaxed but still enough to do. Not a ton of traffic and we could walk to Whalers Village and drive to Lahaina for more to do. Oahu was SUPER nice & romantic. The actual town you fly into is super busy but Ko Olina wasn't.
