We are back from our beautiful honeymoon in Hawaii! We spent 3 nights in Maui, and 4 in Oahu. Wow, it went by so quick. We should have planned for at least 10 nights! We flew Southwest, they were awesome and the flight was super easy. We budgeted right around $8,000 and came in around $7,600.
Maui - We stayed in the Royal Lahaina. This was a great "budget" hotel, it was $365 per night for an oceanview room, rental car, and breakfast. Their breakfast buffet was great! We had a mahi mahi benedict the first day, OMG, it was the best. So much more than we expected from an included buffet. The room was dated and the service was just okay, but we didn't spend much time in the room. We bought snorkels & fins and did a lot of driving around to different beaches, we saw a turtle while snorkeling at Kahekili Beach really close to our hotel. We went down to Makena Beach and saw a lot of fish! We had the BEST poke of the whole trip at the Maui Fish Market near Lahaina, wow it was so good! We ate at Mama's Fish House, it was expensive but a really nice meal and a great experience. The views were stunning. We made our way to Ho'Okipa Beach after, and saw upwards of 20 turtles just sunning in the sand. It was so special! We went to Feast at Lele, it was an awesome luau.
Oahu - We stayed two nights at Four Seasons Ko Olina and two nights in Turtle Bay. Both rooms were around $600 per night. The Four Seasons is a stunning hotel and the service is out of this world, worth every penny. Their adult pool is really nice and the rooms were amazing. We ate at Roy's one night for dinner (across the street at the golf course) and were disappointed. It really wasn't a great meal. Turtle Bay was nice and seclusive, we stayed in a cottage so the room was quite large. Their pool was filled with kids & families so we opted to go to their beach the whole time. We ate at the Aji Limo Truck, it was the best meal in Oahu by far. So delicious, it's on the North Shore! The poke & ahi sandwich were amazing. We saw turtles floating outside our room at Turtle Bay, what a treat! We went to the Pearl Harbor memorial, the main part was closed but we still saw the museum and USS Bowfin. We took an ATV tour of Kualoa Ranch, I can't recommend this enough. It was beautiful and so fun! We did a snorkel & snuba tour that left out of Ko Olina Marina, snuba was so fun and I would for sure do it again. We saw 4 very large turtles and a ton of fish!
It went by way too fast, but we had so much fun. We did wear couples shirts a few times and it hinted to a lot of people it was our honeymoon, so we got 6 free bottles of champagne, 5 free desserts, a free daybed at the four seasons adult pool, two free mai tais at the royal lahaina, and a lot of love!
