Having a singer at the wedding???????????

Audris, on May 1, 2010 at 12:38 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

I don't know much about weddings at all, but want someone to sing. My question is when do they usually sing? What are some good songs to have song at a wedding? Thanks

I am having two people sing. One song is sung right before my dad gives me away (its not a normal spot to do a song, but I like it) and also for the Unity candle there will be a song sung.

My sister's DH is a music leader and he sang a song to her (before they exchanged rings) and she sand a song to him (right before they kissed).

As for what good songs to sing, it depends on your style of music... there are a lot of websites out there that you can look for "wedding music" and it will pull up songs and places for the songs to be sung during the wedding! Hope this helped a little. Smiley smile

I am having a good girlfriend from college since at my wedding. She will sing (crap--I'm blanking on the titles..hold on)...ok I don't remember the titles. Sad! But one is a Michael Buble song and then there is one other. Why can't I remember titles?! Argh! I'll get back to you..

Do you want them to sing at the ceremony or reception? I sang two songs at a friend's wedding during the reception - Everything by Michael Buble and I could not ask for more by Sara Evans. I think it is up to you and how you want the ceremony/reception to flow.

The ceremony is the most obvious place for someone to sing, but there's nothing wrong with having someone perform towards the end of your dinner and/or right after the cake-cutting. It's a good way to keep the energy flowing.
