Has your fiancé seen your wedding dress?

Thecane428, on August 24, 2014 at 3:32 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 54

In person, helped you pick it out, in a picture, or magazine etc???

As some of you know from my previous post, I found my gown yesterday and since I bought a sample sale gown I got to take it home with me. We live together and so it's in our room. There's a chance he might see it, maybe peak inside of the bag or since we normally use each others phones he might find a picture. My mom and fail say its bad luck so I'm scared he might see it and with 8 months left for the wedding I hate feeling like I have to babysit the dress!!

Nope. I don't even want him to know the fit of it or the color! I've gotten really close to giving out details on accident though!

I asked him if we wanted to go shopping with me for it, but he said he didn't, he'd rather wait until the day. I was pretty indifferent either way, although it would have been nice to get his input on the dresses when I tried them on, but I found my dress and I'm happy with it and I'm sure he will be, too. It's not like seeing the dress or me in the dress is going to change the excitement of our wedding day or the success of our marriage. Besides, even if he sees the dress or pics of you wearing it, he still won't see you all dolled up with your hair and makeup done like it will be on your wedding day. But if you are really uncomfortable with him maybe seeing the dress ask your parents or a close friend to hold onto the dress for you.

He hasn't seen it, but he knows its strapless. only because I had gone on and on about not wanting a strapless dress, then bought one. then I was talking to his mom about possibly adding sleeves or an illusion neckline since it's strapless and of course, its the one time he's paying attention when I'm not speaking directly to him and he goes "your dress is strapless!?" hahaha

He doesn't want to see it. It was in the closet (it's in for alterations now) and he wasn't inclined to peek.

Nope, but unfortunately he may have seen a glimpse of pictures.

Are you the one that bought the Essense of Australia dress? That's what mine is.

Nope. He doesn't want to see it beforehand. It's hanging in a bag in my closet.

Mine is hanging in my closet. FH has no interest in seeing it until the day of the wedding. The only thing he asked about it was if is strapless.

He has not and will not until the day of our wedding.

The dress will go from the salad after my last fitting to his grandmothers house where it will stay till I go there to get ready.

I picked up mine yesterday! It was between leaving it at my moms house ( but she has a disobedient dog I don't trust) or bringing it to my apt, I brought it home and stuck it in my sons closet ( he's 2 and we use it for storage) I told FH not to peak and he said he doesn't want to ... I was told not to leave it in the bag because the train will wrinkle so I let it out ... did others get this advice too?

I think the best part of the wedding is the first time he sees you in the dress walking down the aisle. My fiance only knows the color of the dress because of decor (ivory instead of white, he's very nosy and involved with the wedding) Smiley smile.

My iPad and phone have been off limits to him since my girlfriends and aunts sent me some pics so I can see it. Having the photos texted as opposed to being in the photo album helps also. You never know when he'll be peaking at the photo album and accidentally come across it.

I would find a friend or relative you trust to keep it at their house. Even if he doesn't want to see it, accidents happen.

Blue one 4 - I was told to keep it in the bag to keep it safe and take it in to be steamed about 1 week before the wedding, then you can let it out.

I just ordered mine last Saturday. I don't plan to let him see it prior to our wedding, but not because I am superstitious - simply because I think it adds more excitement to the day. Just remember that even if he sees the dress - it's not the same as seeing YOU in the dress. I wouldn't stress out over having to babysit a dress.

Amber - maybe it's because mine is already steamed ( included in the alterations charge ) and we are only 2 weeks out? I did clean out the closet to make sure there wouldn't be any dirt or anything hope it's safe !

Blue one 4 - that makes sense then. Good thinking with cleaning out the closet. I cannot believe September is already less than 2 weeks!! Blows my mind everytime a new month is here!! Good luck on your big day!

For our civil wedding he went with me and saw me try it on! Everything was so last minute so I didn't even have time to realize that he shouldn't be there with me lol! For our church wedding though it will be a surprise Smiley smile

Is he the type to peak? If not don't worry about it. My guy doesn't want to see if so I know he won't look in the closet or on my phone. I do wish there was a way to store pictures on your phone in a password protected album... Or maybe there is and I don't know about it. That would be perfect! Just to keep him from accidentally seeing.
