Has anyone used HONEYFUND? Or any other HoneyMoon Registry?? Help!

Carolina, on February 28, 2012 at 5:29 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 8

Hi Ladies! Have any of you set up a Honey Moon Registry? We already have mostly everything we need for the home, and I would love to have an amazing honeymoon.

Does anyone have any suggestions/advice for Honey Moon Registries? I found HoneyFund... but I don't know much about it. Is it trustworthy? Do they charge? What's the catch!

thanks!!

Hi, we are using honeyfund. So far, it has been fine... no one has bought anything yet though!

Honeyfund is great! They don't take a percentage of the gifts like other honeymoon registries. I did pay the one time upgrade fee though so I could include pictures and stuff. Don't remember what that cost but I remember it was reasonable. Now if only our guests would actually use it. Smiley winking

If we didn't need anything then I would consider doing a honeymoon fund so that I don't get random items that I will have to end up returning.

    Also-- From the sticky note:

Consider changing your avatar from our pre-designed 'salt & pepper shakers.' Avatars are often how fellow community members can identify you! We certainly understand privacy concerns, so the picture doesn't have to be of you ... just something unique to you, your wedding, or something that you love! This will make it easier for us to remember who you are and follow your progression of posts.

    To do this:

    - Click 'Settings' at the top right-hand side of your screen

    - Click 'Manage Profile Settings'

    - Upload a picture from your computer ... and don't forget to save!

We are going to register for a honeymoon fund as we have everything we need for the "house". We were thinking on going to Disney World and they have a personal honeymoon registry for that. Otherwise I've heard good things about honeyfundSmiley smile

We had an awesome experience with depositagift.com also, you can register for more than just your honeymoon.

We used Honeymoon Pixie. I thought that the way Honeyfund worked was kind of weird. Guests basically just "commit" to buying a certain item on the registry, print off a certificate, and bring it to the wedding reception. That seems like too many extra steps to me, plus, unless you're honeymooning in the country or will have time before you take off, it can be really hard to get checks processed before you leave!

With Honeymoon Pixie, guests bought our gifts online, and we could transfer the money whenever it became available (which was really quickly!). Some guests used the registry for our bridal shower, and we were able to use the money to make a few bookings. Those who opted to use that registry for our wedding purchased gifts closer to the wedding date, and we were able to do a wire transfer the night of our wedding so we'd have the money for our honeymoon!

We used all the money to pay for the experiences guests bought for us, and it was wonderful!

Thanks Jasmine! I just looked up honeymoon pixie... how did your guests feel about having to pay the 7% fee? Did anyone say anything?
