Has anyone moved their date up due to the threat of covid interfering with original date?

Current date: 11/28/2020, starting to consider moving our date up to end of June/July. We have kiddos and August/September are supper busy for us with getting back to school. We have a venue and they are willing to work with us on the date, but they are also limiting the number of guest even as the limitations are lifted.

Personally, I would be more concerned about covid in June/July than November. Unfortunately we can't predict November yet but I would feel more comfortable as a bride with that month. Are you willing to cut your guest list for the summer?

I am willing to cut our guest list, however my groom doesn't want to be limited. I have heard and still hearing several reports of them expecting it to be worse in the fall because it will hit with the flu. We really don't want to have to postpone our wedding until this time next year if we are unable to get married in November.

Sounds like y'all still have some discussing to do. I would also make sure your VIP guests can attend your new date as well as all vendors/fees are taken into account before your move your date. Good luck!

    Hi Samantha,

I've been reading a lot of these discussions within the WeddingWire community, and I think this is the first one where someone has mentioned moving up their wedding date from late fall to summer. However, if that makes the most sense for your family, it could be a great option.

I agree with the PP. You and your fiance will need to agree on what an August/September wedding looks like if there are group size restrictions, etc. The guest list is a good place to start. Also, here's a couple of related discussions:

    - I need you, August 2020 brides

    - November 2020 wedding - anyone postponing yet?

I hope you can make a decision that eases your mind! Smiley heart
