Has anyone explored the option of renting a uhaul for the day

CountryRoads, on May 4, 2018 at 10:46 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

Has anyone considered, or actually rented a UHAUL to take wedding decor to the venue the day before the wedding? If so, was it worth it, or would it have been easier to use several people driving several cars?

We did! We had tables and heaters which had to be transported. It was totally worth it we had it for the weekend (an enclosed one) and left everything in there until we needed it. It was a great use of our funds in my opinion (we did a ton of DIY so we had a lot of stuff) highly reccomend it!

My best friend rented a uhaul trailer. They had so much DIY stuff it was almost a necessity. It made it easy for there to be one place for breakdown to go. I think it was worth it.

I'm using trucks too. I live in the snow so it's pretty much a need to have a truck. I'll be using my truck and my dad will be using his truck. And of course I'm sure my mom will pack some stuff into her car.

I plan on using my Suburban and taking out the 3rd row. I can also use FH's truck if needed. If I didn't have that option and had a lot of stuff to haul, I'd definitely consider a small uhaul.

Most of my stuff will fit in a car or two, but I am renting a storage space nearby so I don't have to keep it at my house later. The venue is over an hour away.

I had a friend do it they had a ton of stuff including two large back drops. It was lovely but very DIY and they put a ton of sweat equity into their day. And she was so stressed about all of the decor. If you are thinking about having a lot, try to pare it down a bit. I have a florist/decorator and my friend woh the ubaul wishes she would of just spent the money to be able to just show up and have it done.

plus who is driving this truck? Who will load in and tear down? Don’t ask your friends or family to do it, which is what my friend did and it was a mess.

We are renting a uhaul. Or venue is 2 hours away and we've purchased furniture for the look we want.

As long as it’s not extremely large items why don’t you borrow someone’s pickup?

Werr doing that. its soooooo much easier just to put everything in one truck amd dont have to worry about going back and forth. especially since the location is not that close to home
