Has anybody taken a pre wedding vacation with FH/FW?

Yes. We just got back from Aruba. But it wasn't planned as a pre wedding vacation. We booked ands paid for the trip before FH proposed.

That is a GREAT idea. Even just a weekend getaway would probably be fantastic!

We go on lots of trips but we don't have one planned with this specific purpose. We went on a cruise to Bermuda right after getting engaged and we're taking our kids to Bahamas and Disney for Xmas...that will likely be the last big trip before the wedding.

I've never heard of this concept since a lot of people are saving to pay for the wedding beforehand but if you can afford it I say go for it!

We thought about going to Cabo for 5/12/17 (one year before the wedding) but decided to save the money. Now we both really wish we had gone because we could use a vacation!!

We went to Turks and Caicos the first week of August. It wasn't just us- we stayed on a villa on grace bay with 2 other couples. We made some time for just the two of us, but had a fabulous time as a house as well. I highly recommend it!

Kind of, we went on a cruise this summer but that will be our last vacation until our honeymoon

We have never vacationed together (other than to just visit our families) in the 6 years we've been together. I would love a vacation with FH!

We are thinking of just going to the west coast of Florida (basically a 2 hour drive) for a couple of low key nights a good month and a half before the wedding. Was just curious if other people were planning the same thing. Some of your unofficial pre wedding trips sound amazing!!!

We didn't do a specific pre-wedding trip, but we usually do 2 big trips a year. This year, one was for our honeymoon, but we also went to Switzerland and Italy in May.

Good idea. We booked a trip to NY after the honeymoon.

We are going to FL early to chill before the big day. The wedding is in FL.

I surprised my hubby for his birthday two weeks before our wedding on a weekend get away. It was so fun to focus on us and put the details on hold. Everything still turned out great.

We are not doing a 'just us' trip. However, we are taking two trips with friends, who mostly are in the party. Vegas in Jan and Myrtle Beach in May.

I guess my FH and I will be taking a trip prior to the wedding. We're meeting in Italy sometime this winter. He's deployed so we wanted to go somewhere nice.

My cousin and her fiancé are taking a trip over New Years to Napa Valley. It was planned prior to them getting engaged, but now it's a trip prior to the wedding too.

Lol we took separate ones and it was great to relax @ rejuvenate with girlfriends!

We went to Europe after we got engaged. It was a pre-planned vacation. I thought he would propose there but he surprised me in London a month before. So we had a little engagement vacation!

Well it wasn't like a pre-honeymoon but FH and I have travelled many times before. I definitely think couples should try to travel together at least once before getting married, because I think it's a really revealing time where you learn a lot about someone.

But we got engaged in December and went to the beach for 5 days this summer with our friends, which was a great time but I wouldn't say a pre-wedding vacation or anything, it was just a vacation. We've also been to Myrtle Beach together 3 times, Orlando once, Charlotte once (my grandparents live there), and gone on a few other day trips from time to time. I love to travel, and we're going on our first cruise after the wedding (the first time I'll have left the country!). We're planning a Europe trip for 2019 and hoping in 2020 to be able to save enough to go to Bora Bora, which is my dream. Then maybe Australia the next year, then we'll probably want to have kids by then.

We are planning to, but it will still be about 3 months before the wedding. Mine and FH's birthdays are 5 days apart - and next year they actually fall within the same week so we want to take a small vacation to celebrate. We aren't going anywhere crazy since we have to save wedding money - plus we'll be honeymooning on a beach, so we don't want to do a beach vacation. Probably rent a cabin for the week somewhere

We ran away to Disney World for a quick trip Labor Day weekend to get a break from planning and a chance to reconnect. A trip like this that kept us busy was perfect for us. If we had gone to the beach or something, I would have just taken my laptop and wedding notebook and kept working!
