Hi ashely . I am not Haitian, but my FH is. I want to incorporate some southern and Haitian traditions in my wedding. For example; the ceremony, I would like to incorporate the rhythmic dance down the aisle. I would also like to have the groom's cake be a Haitian cake. I want the cocktail hour to consist of some traditional Haitian dishes. I also would like to incorporate my southern tradition of jumping over the broom, food, etc. I'm in NY. I know it's not a lot, but hope this gets your creative juices flowing lol. Good luck and happy planning!

I'm not Haitian but we are combining Caribbean cultures at my wedding. My FH is Jamaican and my mom is Bajan. The processional will be to Bob Marley's "Turn your lights down low" and we'll have some traditional Jamaican dishes incorporated in the cocktail hour. We will also have a steel pan band performance to include the Bajan culture and have rum cake favors. I think it'll be easy to incorporate Haitian culture in your wedding, just pick your favorite things and it'll come together.
