Hair Dye before Wedding!

Cecily2938, on October 21, 2015 at 11:41 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

I am trying to decide if I should dye my hair before my wedding in December, I have dark brown hair naturally that has no color in it right now, I usually go for a reddish brown type look. Any Advice?!?!?!

I'd say no. I have dark brown hair and I do the same reddish brown look. If your hair grows, your roots are going to come through and they will be noticeable. I'm growing my hair out for my wedding so my natural color is my hair color.

What about some reddish highlights? Especially if you're doing an up-do it'll add some dimension

I grew my hair out a couple of years ago to go 'back to my natural color'. My natural color is a sad combination of dirty blonde with the occasional gray hair. I'm back to coloring as needed.

I did go back to being blonde last month and I am not happy with the highlights (I forgot it takes several rounds of color before it stops looking streaky). Going for a full color in a couple weeks.

My advice - if you do change your color, give yourself plenty of time in case you don't like how it turns out.

I'd say dye it and get highlights, or just get bayalage, now. Then 2 weeks before your wedding get a touch up. I get my hair done every 8 weeks and I'm going to make sure my last appointment Before the wedding is 2 weeks before because that is when like my color the best.

I'm a natural dark blond who LOVES having dark hair. I look better with dark, so I dyed it dark. I say look back at pics of you with the color you love. Do you regret having any moments captured with your non natural color? If not, go for something you know you love.

But if you've never dyed before, I wouldn't recommend a big change. Try something NOW for dimension, and retouch for your wedding

Exactly what Jacqui said - I dyed it about two months before the wedding, to bring it back from weird almost-jet black to my original colour (dark brown). Then I went for a touch up about a week and a half before my wedding.

I color mine to cover gray and try to keep the roots matching the rest of my hair. My plan is to do it 1-2 weeks before the wedding to make sure that it doesn't look too stark (dark brown).

I dyed mine reddish brown last week, that way it had 2 weeks worth of washes to let the color fade a bit so it wasn't so vibrant and drastic. I love how it came out!

I say go for it, but don't do it right before. I say 2-3 weeks before is good, so you can get some washes in, but it won't be too grown out from your roots.

If you do, please go to a professional! And let them know your goal BEFORE anything is done. They will help and make sure your hair is the best color for you on your day! Get a touch up 1 week before. It gives the color a good setting time.
