Here is my problem. I don't really want a stiff up do. I was going to get a weave and then have it styled in a half up half down do, but here is the problem we are going on a cruise the next day and from experience weaves can be very time consuming on vacations where there is swimming. Even with a wet and wavy. Any suggestions on a hair style that will look timeless for the wedding and transition well for vacay. What are you ladies doing to your hair. I'm not really crazy about getting my hair braided but I guess it is an option.

here is a tutorial to make your own clip ins http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LsPGSH3v7U

I think that Im going to get remy indian hair make my own clip ins for the wedding and then buy the pro ten synthetic hair in a wavy style make those clip ins for the water. Then I'll switch back and forth between the pieces depending on the activity. Of course I will have to practice this.

Kimberly....what brand is that and where do you buy it.....I am still at a lost as to what I am going to do with my hair......I am going to either do a lace wig or sew in

I use to wear wear back in the day but haven't in a while....I usually buy in bulk and wear it both straight and curly....

I currently have a weave in, which is virgin malaysian remy hair...i have had it in since the end of february & just had tracks retightened last week....the hair is great but i also paid a pretty penny for this as well....i for my wedding hairstyle it will either be all down in curls all going to one side or loose curly low up do...hair is very easy to manage & i just came from the beach yesterday where FH & i are getting married & got my hair wet a bit & it has held up fine...this is the first time ive ever gotten a weave & got it early to see how i would like it for the wedding & i like it so much & i now want to find out how to do weaves myself!!

I am totally doing a sew in. I had a hair trial last month with my extensions. I am totally going for the kind of hair that when it gets wet it waves up. :-) Since it will be a sew in I can wear the hair for the wedding and honeymoon and be in good shape to swim.

The individuals would be cool too but they are sooooo expensive!

WOW....This is really interesting. I've never heard of such a thing. LOL

I just may try this myself. I was too considering a weave for my wedding. On second thought IDK.......I'm afaraid it would fall out. How embarassing if my 18 month old daughter pulled at my hair. LOL

Thanks Ladies. I buy the hair in beauty stores...I dont trust buying hair online because I need to feel it and see it in person to make sure its what I want. This brand is Bohyme. I typically get the Bobbi Boss IndyRemi. THis was my first time trying this hair and getting a full coverage with a cap.

Chuwana, I think you could do a half up/half down style. you would have to have some bangs or edges down though to keep the sewn in edges from showing. I dont know about the lace fronts.....they tend to look fake because the cut of the hair line doesnt always look natural.....at least the ones I have seen.

I heard that caring for a sew-in is extra hard work when you swim. Because of the chlorine and chemicals in some pools, you have to be extra precautious and shampoo immediately otherwise you are giving those chemicals time to fester and you could thus damage your real hair. Personally, I wouldn't risk it, but then again I am totally against chemicals anyway. I've been relaxer-free for 3 yrs. and I plan to wear clip-on extentions for my wedding. My problem is, there's a great chance that I can sweat out my press and be left with "lifted" roots...LOL...but I'll take my chances.

I didn't do the BC either!!! I was too chicken...LOL...I just let the relaxed ends grow out on their own and clipped them off. I love sew-in weaves. The last one I had was a full closure with bangs during my transition stage. I couldn't see myself swimming with a sew-in. My scalp is already easily irritated as it is, I could just imagine how it would be itching and carrying on if I swam with one. Lord Jesus!!!! LOL!!!! I am LOVING the DIY clip on extentions!!! I'm looking on youtube right now because I know those suckas are EXPENSIVE in the beauty supply stores!!!
