Here is my problem. I don't really want a stiff up do. I was going to get a weave and then have it styled in a half up half down do, but here is the problem we are going on a cruise the next day and from experience weaves can be very time consuming on vacations where there is swimming. Even with a wet and wavy. Any suggestions on a hair style that will look timeless for the wedding and transition well for vacay. What are you ladies doing to your hair. I'm not really crazy about getting my hair braided but I guess it is an option.

I had a wet and wavy weave in my profile pic (I was in Jamaica) and my sister put it in being that I didn't want to get a perm at the time gel and mouse to the front with a cute head band while in the water and I was good to go. I also had to do other things at nights but it held up very well. My problem was in trinidad. The hair I got was good quality and a professional put in it (well two professionals that's a whole other story). The issue was going from the straight pin curled look to wet and wavy. I think I was in way over my head trying to pin curl my hair anyway I guess if I go the full head route I need to keep it simple and just wash it and wavy it up before I leave. I also want to price out he hair clips and play with them to see if that would be a better option.... Hmmmm so much to think about. Thanx ladies let's keep this dialogue going and post pics to help each other out

Well I'm not much help to you because I have zero knowledge of weaves. My hair is about 2 inches from my behind, so I'm just wearing spiral curls. I hate pins so an updo is out of the question. I just normally wear 2 braids when I swim, so that won't be a problem. I suppose you can rock the Pochahontas style when you swim.

I am having the same thoughts like what to do with my hair. I for one, when on vacation hate spending precious time worrying and doing my hair. With that being said, I've gotten braids and weaves or worn ponytail pieces towards the end of my trips. This year, I'm undecided on whether to get indian remy hair that can be curled or straight. I like getting in the pool but I'm not pressed to go underwater. Men have it so easy! A nice cut and sharp shape up.

For next years vow/renewal I want something classy like a nice soft wave with a twisted bun look on the side. That style is hard to explain. But, next year I won't be going on a HM so I'll probably wear my own hair with maybe a little track added.

I don't know what to tell you either. I don't wear weave...never have. My hair is halfway down my back. I would say, though, that whatever you do keep it super simple so you're not spending a lot of your HM time worrying about your hair. The clips sound like a GREAT idea to me. They can be taken out to swim and put back in for everything else.

I'm doin' a spiral curls look. My trial hair run was with straight hair, but I found some spiral curl hair I can do and I won't have to maintain it as much as I would have with the straight.

I think a full head of sewn would be fine. My friend had a full head she had it pin up at her wedding and then she wore it down for the honeymoon it should be fine.

But I do know I defintely need lots of help. My hair is just to my shoulders, but its paper thin, no chemicals added. Ladies plz help with more advice.

My question is how secure are clips? For example, if someone hugs you and pulls on your hair slightly, will the clip in be lying on the floor? lol This is something I'm considering for fullness and a back up plan to cover a tattoo on my back. Then the other question is Remy or Brazilian? Or does it depend on the texture of your hair? I've only had weave once and it was Remy and no one ever knew.

Ok, so here are a few pics.... the first is my natural hair. I wear hair for convenience and versatility.

Anywho, the next is a sew in of a really curly style and the next is clips of a wavy style... I sometimes get that sewn in depending on how much time I have! The clips are pretty strong but I recommend that you sew the tracks to the clips so they do not detach. PM me if you want more info.

@ EDubb and Singing Diva, thanks for the visual pics. So I can buy the clips @ the beauty supply right? I have no skills really when it comes to doing hair on my own! SMH. Wish I did, to save $.

Shauna, "I have no skills really when it comes to doing my own!" girl that is why I wear hair! I don't have the time, energy, or skill!

You're in MD right? I can give you the names and number of 2 stylist, one in Baltimore City near Morgan State University and the other in Harford Co. Both are great... of course if anyone wants to come to NC, I can hook you up with my stylist :-)

Hi Chuwana, I think you should get a sew in. They have a net cap that can be placed over the your natural hair once it is braided. This helps to secure the braids and makes your style last longer. The most important thing I can tell you is to get quality hair. I wear extensions a lot, my real hair is not relaxed, long, and perfectly healthy, and its because I let it rest so much by keeping it braided and moisturized. Anyway, I only Remy hair. Its more expensive but you get what you pay for right? Right now I have a Bohyme hair and it seems to be exactly what you need. Mostly, I wear it straight with a slight curl, or sometimes I wash it and wear it wavy. It looks great and holds up wash after wash after wash! I will post pics. You can have it straight and get it styled for your wedding, then just wear it wavy on the Honey moon....sooooo easy to manage.

Sorry so many pics but I wanted you to see how versatile the hair is and I have this in for over a month and its still looks great because I wash it all the time. Good luck
