To make a very long story short, I went to my dress fitting yesterday. First, the woman told me I was way too early. My appointment was for 12:30. I arrived at 12:28. To make a very long story short, I went to my dress fitting yesterday. First, the woman told me I was way too early. My appointment was for 12:30. I arrived at 12:28. Then she changed her mind and told me I was late perhaps. I said no, I’m right on time. Then she told me my appointment wasn’t in the book. I said I took a ½ day off of work to be here. I’m not leaving. 15 minutes later she asked if I was there to try on prom dresses. 10 minutes later she asked if I was there to see wedding gowns. 15 minutes later she found my appt in the book so finally got my dress. I put it on. I came out and she asked if I would like to try on more dresses. I said no this is my dress, I need it fitted. ½ hour later she finally got to me while I had to hear the other girls that were there complain that their appt was at 11 and the dress owner didn’t show up till noon (that’s why I had to wait). She does my trimming and pinning which took 2 ½ hours (my feet were killing me) then the seamstress sees and

@LovelyUnique ~ I would have done that if I had the dress paid off. I was planning on doing it that yesterday (I still owe half) but then I got scared if the dress gets messed up and they won’t refund me, that’s all the more money I’ll be out. So, I am waiting to pay for it. Unless I just go get it to bring it elsewhere, I can pay for it at that time. I just got nervous and upset yesterday and was exhausted and just wanted outta there!

@Artisticveil ~ Thank you so much, my problem is however that we are getting married very close to Portsmouth (I think only 15 minutes from Ogunquit) but I live in Albany NY ? But thank you. I will probably go pick my dress up tomorrow.

I’m just sick of every place I call I have to hear about prom coming up and they are so busy! But I’ll figure it out.

There's a reason why seamstress ends in STRESS!!!

Seriously: myself, bridal party, and mom all went to different stores and all of the seamstress' suck.

    I feel your pain!

Take a road trip to Pittsburgh Smiley smile My mom will hook you up! She made my dress for me. You can always go to a fabric store, like what LadyLee said, because they always have regulars who know how to do alterations.

Oh my god the worst people i have ever heard. how are they in business if they treat their customers like that. see if there is another dress shop that would fix it for you so you don't have to deal with them, not to chix you,but from how they were acting when it came to fitting i wouldn't trust them to do it because it may not get done.

Do you live on the coast? She loves CA! Her best friend lives in San Francisco right now (she's doing one of those traveling respiratory therapy jobs since her hubby is retired-so they just live in a different place every few months. Hahaha). She really does want to start doing gowns. It was so touching because she said how great it was looking at my dress every single day. It's on the mannequin in her living room at the moment.

@Melody-if she didn't fly to ME, she probably would be through NY! Smiley smile Did you go back to the store yet today?

@Vicki P Who do you know in Portsmouth? I worked with a bunch of them there - maybe it's someone I know.
